Very nice dinner but for the price it would be a rare splurge, even during happy hour. Went for a last minute casual Happy Hour... dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night. Sat in the bar lounge which was very comfortable seating. They had large high back chairs that helped give a private booth type feel. We weren't rushed at all. We were there close to 2 hours. Waitress wasn'toverly attentive which was nice. Happy hour menu is a bit pricier than I had expected, was hoping for some more reasonablypriced items to be on it. I expect happy hour drinks to be priced under $8 and my margarita was small and nothing specialfor$11. The Spicy Shrimp ($12) was definitely worth the price though. Delicious taste with just the right amount of crunch andheat, not overly breaded. I ordered my New York Strip ($58) and Au gratin potatoes (additional $$13) off the dinner menu as Idon't like wine and the steaks on the happy hour are both paired with wine ($48 pairing). The New York Strip was perfectlytender and delicious although the presentation wasn't very appealing. I ordered it medium (think it was a tad morr toward themedium well side) but it wasn't overcooked at all it was scrumptious!! The Au gratin potatoes looked heavenly and the flavorsdid not disappoint. I wish I had ordered the asparagus as well but by the time we were finished the bill was $185 and I wasstuffed so maybe next time. Total ordered: Happy Hour Margarita ($11) Happy Hour Filet &Rosé ($38) Happy Hour Spicy Shrimp($12) Dinner menu: New York Strip ($58) Dinner menu: Au gratin potatoes ($13) Regular coffee Ruth's coffee ($12) Cheesecake($11) Crème Brûlée ($11) Read more

Ambiance was amazing and so was the food. The lobster Mac and cheese & crab cakes were on point and I would go back just for... that alone. The lobster bisque was good but not great, I'm sure it would be better next time though. Our waiter Bill wasperfect and some of the best service I've ever had. Cant wait to go back to any of their locations! Read more

Delicious food and excellent service. We went there for our anniversary dinner. The only thing I would have changed is our... table. Despite them knowing it was our anniversary, we were placed rather close to another table. A booth would have been moreintimate. We could hear their conversation as I’m sure they could hear ours despite us speaking with a normal tone/volume.Next time, we will request a booth in our reservation. The bread was a little hard and lacked flavor but the rest of our dinnerwas delicious. Read more

Let me preface by saying we were there to celebrate my brother's birthday. There was 8 adults in our party and we spent over a... thousand dollars there this evening. To start, the service was horrible. The waitress was rude and condescending to everyone. When the meal was over, she overcharged my credit card. The food was subpar. All the steaks were over cooked, the lobsterbisque tasted sour and spoiled, the bread was hard and a bit stale. Having been there for about an hour and a half, after theappetizers and cocktails and about 15 minutes into our main course, some short, cowardly man, whom was dressed like a highschool gym teacher wearing an apron, comes to our table and tells my brother and my son that there is a dress code at therestaurant and that they needed to remove their hats. My son is dealing with alopecia and wears a hat to cover patchy hair andmy brother has some scaring from a childhood infection on the top of his head and thus they normally wear hats. Granted, thegym teacher/sous chef didn't know this, but was rude about it and the way he conveyed the message. The ironic part was thathe, himself was wearing a baseball cap. We saw the sign about the "business casual" dress code and we were not trying to bedifficult, but there were plenty of violators there. A man in cargo shorts, a t-shirt and new balance sneakers sat near usthe entire night and nothing was said to him. Everyone in my party are Mexican and we all agreed that this was some of the worstservice and just overall experience any of us had ever encountered, and that it all had the unfortunate undertone of racism. Ihave 4 younger brothers and we normally rotate through local steak houses for our birthdays, Harry Caray's, Morton's, Gibsons,Capital Grille, Jimmy's Charhouse... but we will never give business to Ruth's Chris again. Do yourself a favor, drive theextra 15 minutes to Woodfield and go to Wildfire and skip this place. Read more

It was my boyfriend and I first time here. The steak was absolutely amazing! It was so juicy and easy to cut through. The salads... were delicious. The butter for the bread was so soft. Our waitress was Stacey and she was wonderful! Read more

This was my first visit to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, we went to celebrate my husband's birthday. The waiter Lucas was excellent.... The food and service was excellent. It was a great dining experience if you don't care what is costs. We ordered fillet, smashedpotatoes w creamed spinach and chocolate cake. The martini was perfect for$15. I won't display prices for dinner. Read more

First time dining at a Ruth Chris restaurant. The ambiance was relaxing and more of an older, classic feel. Service was great.... But sadly, the food was very subpar. The steaks (a filet and a ribeye) were good and thankfully cooked perfectly medium. However, most of the items we ordered were very mushy, which is not an appealing texture when it comes to crab cakes, asparagus,or Brussels sprouts. The au gratin potatoes were quite unique, and not in a good way. The bread pudding dessert was very tasty, though! But overall, the food was very underwhelming. I will stick to driving to the city for superb steakhouses such as RPMSteak, Swift and Sons, Chicago Cut, and Steak 48. Read more
