although the food is great, the service is horrible. I ordered a sandwich once while studying, 40 min passed by and I never got... it. The place was empty. I walked up to the woman in glasses who works here and she seemed confused as if I never ordered asandwich, finally after showing her my receipt she realized they completely forgot about it. 20 min later I FINALLY got mysandwich. Came a few weeks later to study, me and a friend got settled into our table and that same woman who works here lookeddumbfounded when we were sitting there while she was holding food. I stop here whenever I'm in the area and have always had a really good experience. Today I chose to dine in and ordered the... pastrami sandwich based on recommendation of the staff. It was actually really, really good. It wasn't super rich or greasy butflavorful and I loved the mustard. Read more
This place is fantastic! Their coffee is good, the seating is comfortable, and the scones are delicious. And they're open on... Mondays, which apparently is a near-miracle among restaurants in South Bend. Also, hats off to the wonderful person who wasworking behind the counter yesterday morning; she was so friendly! Read more

Order the Kibbler on wheat, you will not be disappointed. Went back to the General to get a quick bite after not having been in... well over a year and I gotta say that the sandwiches are reasonably priced and service was great! Read more
