Dufour has been a favorite restaurant for us for while but last night was an experience of a lifetime! We hosted some out of... town guests for a very emotional reunion at Dufour. We had some unique requests that the staff quickly responded to and wereincredibly accommodating for our entire party. They took every opportunity to make guests feel welcome. We were in a beautifullydecorated parlor room that felt like home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting decorated with white candles and a Christmastree. The parlor was intimate yet spacious which was the perfect setting for a variety of people. The food and wine was amazingand the staff really took customer service to the next level. Dufour is at the top of our list of local restaurants for datenight but last night was extraordinary. The staff offered friendly recommendations and checked in on us often. The meals wereamazing and beautifully plated. The dishes were prepared exactly as requested and cooked to perfection. I cannot recommendDufour enough for any occasion from a casual date night to a large scale function. It?s reasonably priced with a gorgeous winelist, upscale but cozy atmosphere and incredible staff!! Highly recommend!! Read more

Dufour is a very welcome addition to South Berwick. Absolutely stunning decor and physical facility. The menu has many... attractive options from oysters, to seafood, steaks, vegan, etc... We wanted to order everything. Salmon and flank steak entreeswere great. We tried two specialty cocktails which are worth trying. Lobster ???? bisque was perfect, mussels were okay butcreme fresh made broth look unappealing. Still tasted fine. Table was small (in lounge) but the tasteful bar design made up forthe couple of minor shortcomings. I highly recommend this place. Casual upscale, with coordinated seasoned service squad. Niceto see and experience. -Added more pics from subsequent visits- Read more

My wife and I had a fantastic evening at Dufour. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The dining room, spacious and well... designed, creating a perfect environment for a date, or for a get together with friends and family. The service was absolutelytop notch, as our waitress was very attentive and checked with us frequently, to see if we needed drink refills and such. Thenthe food, and I promise you, the food was amazing! Very well described in the menu, and very well prepared. If you're in thearea, make sure you do not miss Dufour! Read more

My gin pickle martini was delicious, but not at all spicy despite the mention of ghost pepper in the description. The mussel... appetizer was so so good and I honestly could eat an entire bowl of that broth for a meal. Our entrees were delish as well andservice was great. We will definitely be back! Read more

I want to tell you about a new restaurant my wife and I went to Saturday night. I should say, it's new to us. This absolute gem... is located inside the Stage House Inn & Bar at 224 Main St South Berwick(Pic 1). The restaurant is Dufour cocktails &provisions(Pic 2). We had reservations for the bar. We were greeted and escorted to our seats in the bar. I took the liberty ofsnapping a few pictures to illustrate just how beautiful it is inside(Pics 3 & 4). We were given a cocktail menu and a dinnermenu. My wife ordered a bottle of San Pellegrino and I ordered the Seriously Nuts Manhattan(Pic 5). This drink was seriouslygood. Made with Basil Hayden Bourbon, Luxardo Cherry Liquor and Walnut Bitters, it was one of the best Manhattans I have everhad. We settled in to the menu and decided we would focus this trip on ordering various appetizers. We began by ordering theCharcuterie Board(Pic 6). What you are seeing is an assortment of local cheeses and artisan Cured meats, house made pickles, grain mustard, fig balsamic spread and country bread. My wife doesn't normally eat the meats on these types of boards, but thiswas different. The meats were lean and so flavorful. She just had to have some. The cheese assortment was fantastic and creamy.Everything was fresh and delicious! One of the best boards we've had. Our next appetizer was the Crispy Brussel Sprouts(Pic 7).These are done via the Chefs daily inspiration. This evening, our Sprouts were dusted with parmesan cheese and had a beautifulgarlic aioli on the side for dipping. They were sooo good. Sometimes it's hard not to look like you're shoveling your food. Wedid our best though. I ordered a second drink, this time I was dying to try their Ginger Snap(Pic 8). It sounded so good I justhad to try it. It's made with vodka, ginger liqueur, fresh squeezed lemon juice and topped with ginger beer and warm spices.???? A little piece of heaven right there. Delicious. Each of us ordered the French Onion Soup as our f Read more
