Local Vermonters recommended the Windjammer (which sounds like a dungeon name in the fantastic video games series The Legend of... Zelda, so of course I had to go) as a place to get food for an out of towner like me. It was amazing. I didn’t have to waitlong for a table or my food. I ordered the crab cake and the NY Strip. All things cooked to perfection. Read more

Super great food! Best steak I've had so far this year. Incredible clam chowder. Order the loaded mashed potatoes. Also, great... cocktails. Maple Manhattan was deliciously sweet. Our server, Gwendolyn B, was phenomenal and helpful. Highly recommended. Read more

Me and my family are on vacation from Connecticut and my mother was just telling the waitress, who was cute and friendly, that... all she had the past couple of days of us being up here was nothing but chicken. She had the French Onion soup and Prime Ribwith Asparagus. My father and I had the jumbo crab cakes as well as the broiled scallops with asparagus and mashed potatoes. There was so much flavor in our food we devoured the whole plates! Definitely would come back again if we had a chance. Read more

We had an amazing time! All of the food and drinks were delicious. The lobster tail was $22 to add onto any dish.

Dinner menu is better than the lunch menu. The service was good and the waiters and waitresses were very attentive. Lots of... different places to sit from outside to the cozy dark inside. Edit: Adding a photo of a decent beer they had. Read more

I discovered the Windjammer when my son began his freshman year at UVM, and I am glad I did! The food is fantastic and the... service is on point, even when the restaurant had to pivot during the pandemic. I especially love the rib-eye steak with aCaesar salad and a glass of cabernet. The crab cakes and sea scallops are also a great choice. The upstairs bar area offersplenty of seating in a nice casual atmosphere. I highly recommend! Read more

Reviews were mixed so I was skeptical, but it was right across the street from my hotel so we checked it out. I was sooooo... pleasantly surprised. Easy to make a reservation, seated as soon as we got here. Louie was informative and friendly. Extremelyprompt as well (we were headed to a concert at higher ground after this). I am a foodie and a picky one at that. I love to beimpressed at restaurants and was so surprised by this gem. The windjammer is so much bigger than I expected. The staff is usedto a large capacity and moved efficiently. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The duck was a tiny bit Over but the sauces andsides more than made up for it (very juicy despite being a tiny bit more than I would have cooked). The brussels, spinach andbroccoli were perfectly cooked and delicious. The rolls were soft and hot with high quality flavorful butter. The lobsterlobstercargo was inventive and a major hit (dip your bread in the flavored hot butter) and the scallops wrapped in bacon were agreat start. We also had the grand boulevard as cocktails which were strong and flavorful. Very impressed ! Read more
