Good was great. I'm not a fan of these places automatically adding 20% tip, and virtue signaling it as "fair wage". It's a... competitive world, and if the service stinks, so does the tip. In this case, service was mediocre as they surely weren'tmotivated to go above and beyond. Clearly, greater debate can be had over the way wait staff get paid, but I think this is apredatory way for restaurants to push labor costs onto the consumer. Read more
Little Moss is a magical outpost of gastronomy. Saying "it's delicious," although true, misses the truth of the place, which is... culinary mastery and brilliant technique in the kitchen. Scallops crisped on the outside but tender on the inside, in a divinelyseasoned lobster broth is one example - or the chicken confit with eggplant and cashew cream, with a crispy-skinned yet tenderleg accompanied by eggplant with an almost gooey texture, also divinely seasoned... I could go on about every item on the menu,each different, yet fully realized in its own right. How do they do that? How do you make a scallop that crispy yet tender atthe same time, with an indescribably smooth texture that caresses and tugs at the tongue? There aren't words, these folks arejust genius. Best meal I've had in years with service to match. Simple and FRESH food with original but unpretentious presentations. Awesome... wine list, vibrant cocktails, had a stellar bartender with perfect recommendations and enjoyed the beautiful room and serenityof the space.
