This place is excellent. (Lifelong Texan & BBQ enthusiast.) They are always friendly, quick, and the quality of the BBQ has been... 10/10 every time for me- it definitely shows that they picked up skills in the hill country. The owner is always happy to chator talk about BBQ. In my opinion these guys are authentic down to the classic sides & homemade desserts. I?m writing this while I?m eating because it?s so good I couldn?t wait another minute to write the review. In town on vacation... and wanted something local and different? I would give Porky's 20 stars if that were an option. The ribs are so tender they felloff the bone while picking them up, and were very delicious. The pulled pork is absolutely amazing!! But what we will crave formonths to come is the brisket!! I have never had a brisket with this much flavor. Absolutely delicious. HIGHLY recommend! Read more
I had the brisket baked potato. The potato was overcooked and the bbq sauce was sweet for me. I wished it had more butter due to... the fact that the potato was over done. Under the foil of the potato, there are jalapenos, onions, and pickles ... Just so youknow, I could smell it but I couldn't find it! The service was great, but based on the food I had, I wouldn't go back again. Myfriend got the loaded fries with sausage. He thought it was good, but wouldn't get again because it was just overloaded withcheese.. rico's cheese at that. I might be a harsh critic when it comes to BBQ, but I just expected more flavor from thebrisket. Wednesdays they have chicken, Fridays there's turkey legs. Otherwise, it's just bed and pork. This is a must stop if you love southern BBQ. We had ribs and brisket, charro beans and mac & cheese which was possibly some of... the best I've ever had. We also did a rock star for appetizers that was a gaint jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and slowcooked brisket, then wrapped with bacon and slow cooked some more. Ya got to try one.
