Unpretentious and delicious. Chef Bruno & Cie serving up solid, French comfort food in as inviting a setting as anyone could... want. Hearty short ribs and braised lamb shank, along with a more delicate, pan-seared trout, preceded by special butternutsquash soup and creamy burrata salad, all delighted. Marvelous. Want to go back right now for the entrecôte frites, Bruno’sBurger, et al — alas, so much menu, so little belly! Merci, BdlG! Read more

An amazing atmosphere and relaxing environment for this location. My wife and I came to this restaurant to enjoy a lovely night... together. The hostess was kind and very pleasant to speak with. We were then seated and she also took our order since ourwaitress was busy at that moment; which is fine. I used to work as a waiter so I understand when it's busy, it's busy. Weordered an appetizer, entree and desert because we plan ahead of time, so we can have more time to talk than looking at themenu. The French onion soup was an amazing starter, the smoked salmon salad was pleasantly refreshing. I forget the name of theother entree but it was pretty good too, desert was alright. However, didn't see the waitress much during our meal and tookawhile to get our desert and tasted a bit bland. So reason why I dropped the rating on service a bit. However, still a wonderfulplace to enjoy a meal with a loved one. Will probably try a different desert to compare with the one we purchased on this visit. Read more

This is the place to get delicious French food in a non fussy setting. The hostess suggested we sit outside since there is no... air conditioning in the main dining room. Our server was informed and attentive. The escargot was nicely flavored with garlicand herbs; the snails were almost as delicious as the one’s we had in Provence. I did not care for the pate but my familyloved the combination of veal, pork, duck and hazelnut. The fillet mignon with peppercorn reduction was amazing. The confit decanard was crispy outside and moist inside. The seafood pasta special blew me away; the light tomato sauce blended well with theseafood’s juices. There was no room for dessert today. The dinner was perfect! Read more

Nice gem in the center of south pasadena. Amazing traditional french cousine. My favorite is a duck leg. A little bit pricey but... worth it Read more

Three of us had an enjoyable evening with very good service. This restaurant could be a real winner but the food is not as... extraordinary as it could be. Seems as if chef owner is not looking close enough at the competition. Steaks were sold as verytop end dry aged but were not as flavorful and tender as they should have been. Fries were perfect. Drinks were great. Read more

Cozy local French restaurant. French owned/run. Service is good; very friendly and atmosphere is relaxed. Food is good, though... I found a couple of our dishes a bit on the bland side. Portions are large however, prices are fine dining though food, atmosphere and service are on the money with a neighborhood spot - so felt a bit overpriced. Dinner for two (without drinks) wasaround $140 (not including tip) Read more

A lovely little French bistro nestled in a residential neighborhood in South Pasadena. Parking is extremely easy as there is... plenty of street parking available without meters or permits in this part of town. It’s a small place, but done well in thatthe tables are not too close together and they provide indoor and outdoor dining. Our server Fabienne was very polite andattentive, she did a great job. I love bistros and go them often so I came in already knowing what I wanted to get, but asusual was swayed by the chef’s special for my entree. I started off with the French Onion Soup and it was very good and donein the classic style, perfect for a cold winter night. We also ordered the cheese balls (goat cheese and Gruyère wrapped inprosciutto) and those were exceptionally flavorful; they had sold me once I heard goat cheese. For my entree I was going to getthe trout but when I heard the Short Ribs special I opted for that and it was rich and delicious. I wish it came with more sauceas I ran out half way through, but still it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. An all around great bistro and I wouldrecommend to anyone. It’s nice to get out of LA on occasion to mix it up so coming north to this quiet neighborhood and greatservice was a pleasure. Read more
