Reviews for Casa Romero Mexican Grill & Bar ???? in South Plainfield, NJ
Food is reasonably good, service is prompt. The main issue is the restaurant severs a few 'sizzling' dishes that really smoked... up the dining room. They need better ventilation if they are going to do that. There were two or three served while we werehaving dinner and you the smoke became fairly thick at a few points. When I got home I could still smell that smokiness in myclothes. Read more
Food looks good. Service is great. But taste too blend for me. Chimichahga and tacos needed some extra spices and sauce to taste... good. Overall I probably come back to try other items. Read more
Ordered for Enchiladas in goat meat.. I also loved the taste when the item was placed on the table… but while I started to eat... I found a long hair on the food.! I was very upset and started to hate that food. They should have taken more care andmaintained proper hygiene, precautions while cooking food. The first time experience was not good though they did not charge me. Read more
I ordered napoles, plantains and vegetarians nachos. I never had napoles and gave them a try. They were "interesting" but I... liked them. However, if you don't enjoy texture food like okra or aloe, you may not prefer them. The plantains were very goodand the vegetarian nachos were fantastic ???? ???? ????. I'm one of those people who really like vegetables, so I tried theminstead of the usual beef nachos. I would absolutely recommend you give them a try. Read more

The tacos de Birria are amazing! We always make the trip when we’re craving them. Great service, prices, and ambiance.
I love eating at local mom and pop restaurants so I was excited to try this based on all the positive reviews. Pros: The vibe... and ambiance of the restaurant is nice. There's a definitely a welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of parking as well. Service wasdecent and they serve chips and sauce. Cons: The food was just ok. The chicken fajita was on the slight saltier side. Nit asmuch chicken as I expected. There was a dead bug in my water but the server was happy to change it. The portion size vs pricewas skewed a bit. I've been to other Mexican restaurants with more generous portions and cheaper prices and better flavor. Theguacamole was also very small. The bowl seems big but it is actually very shallow. There also seems to be quite a lot of nickleand diming when reading the menu. I won't be back to this restaurant but I am glad to have tried it. Read more
This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in town but a few things have changed. First the positive: the food is still good... and the selection is great. Traditional cooking and good quality The Negatives: the portions gave shrank, the prices haveincreased substantially, they now charge a service fee for cards (previously it was a cash discount) and the biggest change, nolonger BYO. Loosing out on bringing your own drinks really impacts the total bill, especially when you're paying their pricesfor drinks. I need to find a new favorite place to go! Read more
