The brisket is the best in Portland by far! Great service. Food was excellent. Portion size is perfect, not too much & not too... little. Food comes out in a timely manner. Nice ambience. Good place for kids. Great selections if you are a vegetarian too. Will be back for sure. Read more

Planned to stop and pick up takeout but decided to dine in. Good move! We enjoyed the chili nachos appetizer but the star of... the show was the wedge salad (I ordered it with the brisket add-on). I ended up not even touching the brisket and bringing halfof the salad home. It was very good; I am looking forward to enjoying it leftovers for lunch. My wife loved her pulled porksandwich and coleslaw. A little pricey but the quality of the food is excellent. I think we'll walk over next time so I cansample some of the adult beverages and not worry about being the designated driver. Read more

If you're looking for mouth-watering BBQ in the South Portland/CE area, look no further than Elsemere! Friendly staff. Good... portions. Succulent BBQ that falls off the bone, melts in your mouth, and has you reaching back for more. Can vouch for thebrisket, pulled pork, sausage, and ribs - all are fantastic. Hell, even the sides and cornbread are good. Prices are a littlehigh, but in line with everything else in that area (too high). Highly recommend! Read more

Delicious, bought the three meat option and was not disappointed. Cornbread was good but slightly dry. Overall 5stars

My boyfriend and I visited Elsmere last year during the pandemic when they were doing outdoor seating. We loved the food so... much, we came back during our trip this year. Unfortunately, the food isn?t that great anymore. The brisket was a little fatty, but not the worst. The salad was literally just lettuce and cheese. The coleslaw was so flavorless, just covered in vinegar. Weasked the waitress for another side, and she wasn?t that nice about it. I felt like we were a bother. She also didn?t mentionthe weekly special cocktail or food. We would?ve ordered from there if we knew about it. I?m giving them a 3/5 because I can seethat they are trying. I completely understand how difficult it for the hospitality/restaurant industry during these hard times, which is why we are trying to eat out and support the restaurants around us as much as we can! But this wasn?t the amazing firstexperience that we had last year. On the other hand, the bartender knows what they are doing! We ordered the Jalisco & the JohnDaly and both are incredibly flavorful and strong! Also, the hostess working on 10/29/2021 was so sweet! All in all, I wouldtry them out. The bar is really nice and so is the restaurant. But, I wouldn?t expect it to be the best BBQ spot in town. Read more

Great spot on the way from downtown to the iconic Portland Head Lighthouse! Enjoyed a beer on the patio with some amazing ribs.... Wife defined it as devine. Was a great first meal in Maine. Glad the pup could join us on the patio. Drinks were good too! Greatatmosphere as well, love the garage feel. Read more

Loved it! Amazing staff very mindful of what you need and if you are enjoying your food. I over hear them ask if a guy wasn't... enjoying his beer and offers to get him something else he might enjoy more. The staff is very dedicated and they match the foodquality very well. I will miss it when I go back to Utah. Very good can't say it enough. Read more
