If you do takeout, this is a friendly reminder to always check each item in your order before leaving the restaurant. We ordered... two supreme burgers (and other items as well) and all we got was a bun, patty and a giant plop of BBQ sauce (they forgot thebacon and cheese). The patty was seasoned really, really well though. By the time we got home and looked in each box, our groupwas too hungry to wait to go back and correct the order. It's a good restaurant - I just was so horribly disappointed in thisorder, thus the semi-useless 3-star review. Read more
I love the broasted chicken at the 5-8! You can't beat the price and the quality is outstanding. Both myself and my wife love... the hamburgers as well, the juicys and the traditional burgers are delicious. The beer is cold, the food is terrific, and theprices are fair. Read more
I feel bad bc they were understaffed so there were two waitresses running around attending 15 tables. I’m glad I waited bc it... was totally worth the wait. I ordered (6) dragon drool wings with a side of ranch. OH MY GOODNESS! ???? DELICIOUS AND AMAZINGCUSTOMER SERVICE despite how understaffed they were. My waitress’s name is Sarah R. My son and I stopped in for some celebratory dinner and cocktails on a Saturday night The Server was friendly , nice... atmosphere . We loved our Server , she was the exception. I thought, what a great place to work . I applied asServer/Bartender and was hired and after only 3 work days I was told I wasn't a good fit . Unrealistic expectations from thestart . I was treated rudely by staff ,, expected to power walk for 8 hours Sat & Sun ( morning) while just in training . I was unable to do so on Saturday after a grueling two day training . If I was told the truth I would of never applied and put myself through this torture . After working a torturous , (2) 5 hour shifts Thursday & Friday night , with mytrainer/Servers , who were not very kind or patient , who expected me to keep up with their professional ability , as well as, learn ; ' Toast ' , a hand held device , w/o being familiar with the 5*8 Menu , or even with out any , self serve training Weare also serving as a Bartender , fetching well and tap drinks behind the Bar , bus tables . Sweep & Mop , all while smilingaway . * I was so exhausted I was practically in tears and shaky , I didn't feel well . I went home completely defeated I wasreally disgusted that they clean their restrooms once a week . A regular complained that the men's room was pretty bad , pee onthe floor , paper towels, she shrugged . My 2nd training night ,; No ice scooper to use to for ice . Just used customer cupsin the ice bin , reach in with our dirty hands , I gave up washing after awhile , we scooped their ice out of the bin ourentire shift Friday , 3 Servers . It's not sanitary . I give it 2 stars for the friendly cooks & food they served up ! Not agood working atmosphere . When I let my Manager know how I felt , she terminated me . The burgers were juicy and just perfect. Love the cheese in the middle. Not a fan of the bread but that's an easy fix. I just... took off the top bun. Cheese curds were so good. I wanted to eat them all. Service was excellent. Will definitely be comingback. Read more
Great service but the food lacks the same spirit of the original 5-8 (maybe I'm nostalgic?) Adjusted my review to three stars... and going again shortly to be fair and give another chance. My review originally reflected my buddy's opinion on the tacos andour dishes as well as my past few visits. He's a retired chef and had some harsh words. He voiced them to the staff and theywere SUPER about it. I'll edit after next visit. Edit:. Came again and had the tacos for taco Tuesday.....ok, yes a lot ofgrease but drain or no drain the beef is a debate....no taco flavoring in the beef makes these loose meat with tomato, lettuceand shredded cheese on tortilla.
