Mr Rice is a great new spot in Chinatown. It is on the south side of the main building. The beef ribs and curry with pork katsu... are very good. I\'ve also had the beef bowl, one of my favs.\n\nThe meal packaging, menu layout, takeout experience and overallquality of the food make it a great value. I believe this is their first location too. Welcome to SLC. Read more

Edit: Unfortunately, I decided to take off a star after a second visit. I thought the long wait the first time was due to the... recent opening. My second visit was weeks later and was just as slow. I was told it would be 20 minutes and waited almost 40.That is not a reasonable wait for a takeout only restaurant which should be able to capture the lunch crowd. The appeal of thisplace will wear off quickly if the waits remain this long. I brought this up with the server and was simply told “we have alot of orders”. I understand that this place is trying to execute perfection with their branding, but they simply need to befaster if they want to remain successful.\n\nThis newcomer of an Asian restaurant left me absolutely speechless.\n\nMr. Rice isa takeout-only Asian restaurant in the fabulous SLC Chinatown complex. They have a variety of rice bowls, lunch boxes, and sushiplates (along with a few other items). For the first few weeks (October 2022), they offered daily $5 lunch boxes on theweekdays. Each day of the week had one lunch box selected to be sold for $5. Otherwise, the prices were quite reasonable.Everything was marked down (i.e. rice bowls were $10 instead of $12). I\'m unsure if this is a permanent marketing gimmick oronly temporary, but the prices were totally fine even at full price. The store itself is a beautiful space. Every part of theinterior was executed with precision and branding in mind. The packaging is incredibly high quality and holds in heat well. Thestaff were very friendly. There was a cooler of sushi packs which appeared to be high quality.\n\nThe only downside of my visitwas my wait. I was told my food would be ready in 20-25 minutes and it took over 30. There were certainly some people waitingbut I would not call it extremely busy. They will need to reduce their wait times to capture more of a lunchcrowd.\n\nThankfully, the food was incredible. I ate the beef rice bowl first. It came with lots of veggies and adelicately-made Read more

Taste was great! Would go back. But definitely say aloud in detail what order you want. The guy who took our order got our... order wrong. Even though we stated the # and the type aloud. We will speak slower and make sure they repeat the order and notjust the # of the item back. They refused to exchange the unopened order for the correct one. If there is no mess up. It wouldhave been great. Or if they exchanged the order.\nUnfortunately, they were unable to do the exchange and that left an unpleasantexperience in our minds. Customer service was not 100% in this case.\nOtherwise, definitely delicious. Made when you order, slight wait of 10 min without any other customers waiting. Read more

Quick and great! We popped in for lunch, grabbed fresh sushi, and bento boxes! They currently are doing a $5 bento special... Monday-Friday for different boxes! Everything tasted great and I loved how tidy the boxes are put together. There is seating towait for your order but, this is a to-go restaurant so grab and go! Also, look how nice these to-go bags are! Read more

Delicious take out meals packaged nicely in what looks like a “bento box” in a boutique-esque gift bag with utensils and a... moist towelette. Would definitely come back! Read more

The ambiance here is incredible. Great spot for quality to-go meals. The owner is incredibly detail oriented, and the food is... fresh (not to mention asthetically pleasing). I got sushi near the end of the day and it still tasted surprisingly fresh. Theprices for the portions are very reasonable. Pork belly box was perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend! Read more

Quick summary: Food tasted great and packaging was cute.\n\nThis place was cute. It is a bit expensive for what it is, but the... food does taste good. Their packaging is also super nice. The bags themselves are cute and the food is separated by type. Thisway certainly parts can be taken out, not get soggy, or whatever you want to do with them. As I mentioned price, inflation hasto be kept in mind and so does the cute packaging and separation I talked about. Read more

Really tasty food to go quickly. They have sushi plates ready to go and their hot food plates are ready in a couple of minutes.... Both plates have a good mix of items that leaves you full and satisfied. Great addition to the Chinatown Market complex and theyfill out the options for the area really well. Read more
