This place is amazing, delicious sandwiches, and an interesting view into the history of South City.

OK sandwiches depending on what they?re out of and who?s making it. These guys are the original owners of the Little Lucca deli... down the street so they have a lot of history and, usually, not nearly as long of a line. Unfortunately in the times I?ve beenthere things have been inconsistent. They?ve frequently been out of some ingredients and often had little or no choice ofbread/rolls. The garlic sauce sounds appealing at first but it?s so strong that it's overwhelming for pretty much any of theirsandwiches. Even the mustard gets layered on way too thick and heavy, drowning out the flavor of their meats. The interior iscluttered and dark? not exactly inviting to sit down and eat. Reminds me of visiting a grandfather's house, if that grandfatherwas a bit of a hoarder. And the last time I was there--even though there weren?t any customers--they had a game on the TV withthe volume cranked so loud we couldn?t hear each other when ordering. And who decided to paint dark blue letters on a blackmenu board? Terrible idea. The people working there are friendly enough. I may give them another try one of these days. Read more

Fun fact: the owner of the place was the original owner of Little Lucca til he sold it and created Teanis after. The area is... filled with old antique knickknacks. Every time I order a sandwich, I catch myself staring at the items he has, and he evensells snacks from Italy. The ladies there are super lovely and patient, and they know me very well, so I get good service here,which I love. I highly recommend ordering the Venice sandwich and asking for it warm. Trust me. We love Teani's Italian Deli. We come for the sandwiches and love the friendly atmosphere and historic decoration around the... little grocery store. The owner, Harold, is a joy to talk with and the ladies behind the counter remember my brother and I,each time we get our orders. I appreciate the community vibe and excellent sandwiches at Teani's. Not great sandwiches. Went here and got myself a turkey, bacon, avocado on Dutch crunch and the nice thing I'll say about the... sandwich is that they loaded it up with a lot of turkey and it was pretty darn big. However, the Dutch crunch bread was abysmal.Absolutely no crunch and kind of starchy. It got really powdery in my mouth. Other things I noticed is that while they were niceto offer me the garlic sauce on both sides of the bread, it was just way too much in terms of sauce and garlic. I prefer thesecret sauce at the sandwich spot, which is a similar idea, but less heavy on the garlic. Overall, not a fan of the flavor of mysandwich. The hubby got a caprese like sandwich, which he too didn't really like. The garlic sauce was too much and the otheringredients were just OK. Weird ambiance that was trying to be old timey, but it reminded me of a dirty thrift shop. I don'tlive too close to Teani's so I don't really think I'll be back. Read more

This place is simply amazing I love supporting the locals especially this place so authentic. I got the Yolanda and this... sandwich is massive I've seen the other meat sandwiches and it's even more massive. You definitely get your money's worth Ican't finish the whole thing I always share with my wife. Every bite of these sandwich is delicious and the Dutch crunch breadis perfect. Every time I'm in the area I always stop by, this is a must try! Read more
