I hate leaving bad reviews. However, I would suggest replacing the cooks, changing the recipes or hiring culinary art students.... The vibe of the restaurant is nice. The food is HORRIBLE. We had the salmon bites (very dry and did not come with a specialsauce), fried whole chicken wings (greasy, still had feathers on them and no seasoning), Mac & cheese (no taste, cheese was likeliquid and microwaved), candid yams (disgusting, taste like canned yams, butter and cinnamon) and mashed potatoes (they weregood. Just needed seasoning). No liquor drinks but it’s BYOB. BYOB is a $5 corking fee. Refills on soft drinks is anadditional charge. Gratuity is automatically added no matter how many is in your party. The staff was super nice and apologeticfor our wait. Read more

Nice place with good vibes. The pasta is not that great and especially not for the price. I did enjoy some of the appetizers... (fried cauliflower and wings). The staff was nice but overall it’s a bit overpriced for the quality/taste of food. Read more

The staff was so nice but the food was not good at all. The hibachi rice was dry and they ran out of kool-aid. My Alfredo came... out last and we were a party of 7. It’s a no for me. Read more

We got there at 1215 and people were already there. The staff was mopping the floor with pine sol when we walked in. Cool... because they are clean. Not cool when you have customers in there. It was 6 of us and we all got our food at different times. Iam not talking within a few seconds. 3 of us had salmon croquettes with rice. One had chicken and waffles. One had a turkeyomelet. One got the catfish. The salmon croquettes came out first with a tablespoon of rice. I am being honest a tablespoon ofrice. The croquettes didn't have seasoning. The catfish came out like 10 minutes later. Then 5 minutes after that the turkeyomelet came out and 10 minutes after that the chicken and waffles came out. The side of turkey came out with the chicken andwaffles and that was ordered with the croquettes. When the side of eggs came out they were cold. The purpose of family brunchis to eat together not separately. It is a two hour window and we waited almost and hour to get the first couple of plates tothe table. The only good thing is you can bring your own liquor in for $10. Sad to say we won't be going back. I try to supportblack owned businesses but the wait was horrible. And the amount of food for the price is not industry average. Read more

The Hidden Gem in Southfield needs some help. Two stars only because my shrimp and chicken pasta was actually decent. In a... world of Rona still on the horizon, I appreciated a place where it was not crowded. My best friend and I arrived eager to trythis black establishment and tried to block out the negative mentality that usually comes with visiting black places. We get in,a table of 8 was just finishing. My Friend asked “do you have any high chairs I can seat her in?” pointing to a 10 month oldbaby. “Unfortunately we do not, but we can sit you in a booth.” We proceed to this long booth. We sat & chit chatted, bythis time the table of 8 had left. We were waiting for the waiter to take a drink order, he finally gets the drinks and one wasnot what I stated, but I ignored the error, but was like come on now, NOBODY is in here. By this time we’re ready to order,“would you like any appetizers?” was the question the waiter asked. Oh yes the spinach & artichoke dip. The waiter goes,“I guess I should tell you what we don’t have. We don’t have the spinach dip nor wing dings.” I looked at my watch, itsaid 2:45pm, then I looked at the waiter and asked, “what time do you close?” He replies back, “Oh we close at 11pm.”Interesting… So there we sat 2 adults and a 10 month old, also just an FYI no alcoholic beverages are provided, but you canBYOB and pay them to open it. TUH The waiter did not use anything to write down the entree orders because he was going off ofmemory. My friend ordered a salad, no salad ever came, the waiter came back after 20 minutes of taking our order to refill waterglasses, I asked about the salad, he goes “oh I totally forgot, let me go ring it in now.” My friend declined and askedabout the food. He told us the food is coming out soon. Another 20 minutes goes by and the food bell is tapped. No food comesto our table, the food bell was tapped again, this time doubled, no food comes to the table. The 3rd bell tap the food comes.Cajun shrim Read more

I've been twice recently-for dinner and brunch. Dinner was great. The steak bites are yummy, the sauce was perfect. The pasta... was also solid. Brunch was good also. I wouldn't recommend the crab cakes but the steak and eggs were good. Also had thecatfish and grits which were my favorite thing! Prices were reasonable. My app + entree was $50. Also it's BYOB!!!!
