I really had a good time here. They staff was great and the band was amazing. The night I was there they featured one of... Detroit’s hottest bands. The Black Lake Band. The menu consisted of some soulful recipes. I had the Mac & cheese, collardgreens and cornbread. The full bar has very reasonable priced drinks. It is a smaller venue. Today was my first visit and it won't be my last. My turkey chops were good they just could've been fried a little harder, the... Asian , and jerk wings were delicious! My only cons were that I was given half of a sweet potato, they charge for corn breadthat should come with the pricey meal, and it NEEDS to be stay that they automatically charge you 20 percent gratuity. I've been waiting to try this place I heard great things the scenery is decent and the staff was really friendly I felt like it... was a little overpriced for what I got and I actually got sick from what I ate. The food was delicious! We had the turkey chops Mac n cheese greens and mashed potatoes, with potatoe wedges on the side!!!... Sounds like a lot but it was my first time here and wanted a good sample! Needless to say our plates where wiped clean when weleft. Will definitely go back any time I’m here!!! Read more
Don’t waste your money here…I ordered blackened salmon with sautéed vegetables…these look and taste like they were frozen... veggies from Walmart that they microwaved. The salmon and mashed potatoes were just ok. Read more
I have dined at Jay Birds Grill numerous times. The food is delicious. I especially enjoyed the Salmon, Catfish and Jerk... Chicken Wings! Oh yes, I also enjoy the awesome Mac & Cheese, Baked Sweet Potatoes & Collard Greens! Kudos to the Chef!! Theyeven have an awesome Holiday Mango Iced Tea! It was the best tasting Iced Tea I have ever tasted! It is a great place fordinner and holding private events! I highly recommend Jay Birds! Read more
I gave the atmosphere a 5 because of the entertainment! They have live musicians on Wednesday night that are fire! Everything... else was just okay. I was really disappointed that they charged us more money for our drinks than what was printed on the menu.When I asked about it, they pointed to some fine print at the bottom that said something like "The prices may be different fromwhat is on the menu". I mean the menu was a paper brochure, just print some more or tell us in advance. They also charged a $5entertainment fee that they did not tell us about in advance.
