Delicious duck, friendly service, able to quickly accommodate a party of 8 on the fly on a busy summer night. Maybe we just got... lucky with our timing, but our table was ready before we finished our drink from the bar. Great experience. Read more
Best swordfish I have eaten in years that wasn't pulled up on my own rod! Shrimp pesto gnocchi was great too. Awesome waitstaff... & for the quality & quantity not over priced. It would have been under $30 a person but my son & I ordered an extra entree; westuffed ourselves to the gills & finished it all...... barely It isn't very often these days that your constantly engaged whileeating out with food & drink. The food here was amazing, I got the eggplant and it was fried to perfection, the drinks were good too and I wish I got a drink... for desert because they sounded amazing. Wish we could have sat on the deck for our dinner but there was no space for us to sit.Loved the salad the balsamic dressing was different in a great way. Wow! This restaurant, on the marina just before the causeway to Oak Island, is worth the trip. The ambiance is fantastic -... classic American Italian restaurant feel, but not stuffy or dated. The menu is to die for - so many things, what to choose? Afantastic wine list as well. Service is excellent. We were greeted and seated quickly and our server was friendly. Fresh breadwith extra virgin olive oil with shredded cheese in it greets you, and we shared a bowl of mussels to start. They were cookedperfectly. Having lived here many years, I don't know why we haven't tried this place before but now that I have, it will certainly be a... top choice in our dining rotation. Or server was Andrew, quite young but he took care of us like he owned the place. Knew hiswines, had sampled the entire menu and was extremely personable. The food was exactly as you would expect - which is to say onpar with the ambiance and service, all of which among the best we've experienced. It's easy to burn through a Franklin, but wethink we got our money's worth! Read more
Joseph's is phenomenal, but make sure to arrive at 5PM when they open. With no reservations or call-ahead seating, you can find... yourself in an hour+ wait quickly. Their food is worth every minute, though. They have the best bread starter in the Oak Islandarea. Their lobster ravioli is 10/10 if you're looking for an appetizer. We have tried and been impressed with half of the menufor entrees. And make sure to save room for dessert! They have a wonderful tableside selection that includes a classic key limeand a super unique blueberry cheesecake with a granola topping. We enjoyed a delicious dinner there on a cold rainy evening. The service was impeccable. Marques was very cordial,... knowledgeable, and thorough . I didn't have a single dirty plate sitting on the table at any time and the drinks never wentempty . This is a wonderful thing ! I enjoyed the filet mignon, the husband enjoyed the salmon. Both were cooked to perfection.Previous times I have had the delicious lamb chops which were done perfectly the eggplant Parmesan was crunchy and delicious. Iwould suggest this as a restaurant for anyone visiting the area because you'll get great service and great food and it's a veryclean establishment. These are things I find important. It's really hard to find great service, great food that is consistent,and an atmosphere that is clean in this area and this is the place that has it all. Read more
