We love this place. Good food, reasonable and great staff. However, the last two times we went, we had a wait outside (to be... expected) and a ridiculous wait inside, once we were seated. What was really frustrating was while we sat there for more than 30minutes (waiting to order) we saw "to go' order, after order, after order go out the door for delivery. They were covering thebar. I understand that you are going to have to go orders, but ppl like us take the time to go to the restaurant, eat and leavea good tip. Looks like there could be a solution where to go orders don't seem to take precedence over patrons that actuallyvisit the restaurant. It will be a while before we go back. And no, we drive too far to get it to go. Have decided an hour waitis just too long for breakfast. Read more

The food here is consistently good. Traditional breakfast or southern fare. Wait staff is always friendly and accommodating-... very professional. The wait can be a bit much sometimes, unless you hit it at just the right time. Recently went, party of 3,and though there were ?only a couple of parties in front of us?, still waited an hour. When one of our party went in to check,there were several open tables. Again, the waitstaff was perfect, but somehow the flow seemed off. I?ll still come back as it?sa wonderful and worthwhile establishment, and perhaps they are understaffed, but it just seemed a bit slower than I?m used tofor a Monday mid morning ?grab a bite to eat?. Hush puppies were delicious and by far the best part of the meal. I don?t eat seafood, but the people I came with really enjoyed... the seafood they got. Very reasonable price point. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall a great value. Read more
Very Disappointed! $40+ Breakfast takeout for family of three. The pancakes and toast were burnt. They even smelled burnt. ... Everyone makes mistakes but, the fact that they covered the burnt pancake and toast with one that wasn?t tells me that they knewthey were serving burnt food. Same thing with the toast used for the breakfast sandwich. My family and I traveled over 450milesto vacation at OAK Island and relax on the awesome beach. We?re here for the week and decided to try the Local restaurant forbreakfast because while on vacation no one really wants to cook but, after trying this restaurant we will be going to thegrocery store for breakfast food and cooking our own. Seafood plate was delicious! Oyster burger was very good. Prime rib, i asked for medium well it was medium rare ( bloody) it had... good flavor but not my preference. Someone in the family ate it. It was gone when I woke up the next morning! Read more
Locals is a wonderful restaurant owned by the most wonderful people and friends. The food there is delicious and so far... everything that I have tried has been great. My favorite is the Fried Pork Chop and fried Grouper bites and let?s not forgetabout the Crab Dip. I could keep on and on. Thank you guys for being one of my favorite Restaurant to go and eat. Even if you goIn at 6:00 pm to eat dinner I have to say I have never felted rushed to finish my meal. If you want to enjoy a great meal and awonderful atmosphere. Then go to Locals Family Diner.
