First of all, I don't dislike the food. Food is ALWAYS between 4 and 5 stars! But I'm dropping my rating to two stars based on... my Father's Day experience. Management made a foolish decision to not accept call in orders today... yet I was told that I couldcome to the restaurant and place a take out order at the bar in person. This is just dumb logic... a place with excellentcustomer service would have simply put me on hold until one of the bar staff could write down my order - *It takes no less timefor them to take my order in-person than it does over the phone... but it made me have to sit around and wait a lot longer formy food. I drove to the restaurant to complete this foolish ordering requirement, and while they were pretty busy at 1:25 I sawthat there was no wait for people to be seated & there was no reason that someone couldn't have taken my order over the phone.To make matters worse... they say you can place your order online, but when you go online to try and place an order they don'thave the same food options available. Management needs to improve customer service. Even a low quality place like Red Lobstertakes carry out orders over the phone [often times the hostess takes that order], surely Half Shell can at least match thecustomer service of a place like Red Lobster?! I also couldn't order a lunch portion of the alfredo pasta at lunch time becausethey are greedy and want to charge dinner prices. Staff was polite at least. We were visiting this location from out of town. We frequent the Half Shell locations in our area and always have a great... experience. When we entered, there were only 2 other tables seated and we waited at the front for about 5 minutes before someonecame out to seat us. The wait for our food was 30-40 minutes which seemed excessive for the number of tables seated. One tablesat after us received their food about 10 minutes before us despite also having two more people in their party than we did. Oursteaks were a bit overcooked but not enough to want to speak up and wait another 40 minutes for a new one. We ordered filets andprobably half of it was fat. Just did not seem like a $40 steak or the quality we are used to receiving from Half Shell. Ourserver was very sweet, attentive, helpful and the only positive about our experience. Read more
Always a 20-40 minute wait but well worth it. The oysters are super fresh and cooked perfectly. The shrimp and grits is the best... you'll get outside of Bourbon Street. This is our go-to for Cajun cuisine and fresh seafood. Read more

Lovely, authentic restaurant to try out if you?re in the area! There are multiple locations too. The one in Spanish Fort was not... too crowded with the ambience inside being just right. We ordered all the different selections of oysters which were delicious.Also, our group ordered many other solid fish/seafood options as well. All the options were tasty but the chargrilled oysterswere the BEST. Read more

All around pretty tasty food with some good drinks; no real complaints from me. Does have the potential to get a little pricey... but overall a very good experience. The Sweet Potato Creme Brulee is still off the hook ??! Read more
