The food was amazing but they packed you in the restaurant like sardines. You have to actively try to not listen to the... conversation taking place at the next table. Read more

The family went in all different directions for Thanksgiving this year, so my wife and I decided to go to one of our favorite... restaurants, just the two of us. This place never fails. The service is fantastic, the ambience and presentation of food iselegant, and most important, it's the best damn steak anywhere! Bring your love there and order the porterhouse for two, youwill think you died and went to heaven! I strongly recommend! Read more

This place isn’t bad, it’s just very overpriced. $15 for a small plate of boiled broccoli. $60 for overcooked pork chops. In... fact nearly everything was overcooked except the undercooked broccoli. If you’ve got the money to spend and want to dine outin the very small village of Sparkill there are many other better inspired options. Read more

I went here with my family for my birthday and couldn’t be more disappointed with the whole experience. I had tried ordering a... drink (a Negroni subbing out the gin for mezcal) the server seemed thrown off by my request and had to ask another server what Imeant. Then when he came back had told me they don’t carry mezcal. I said don’t worry about it and skipped ordering thedrink. Instead I decided to walk to the bar to see the liquor options, because when I had asked what options they had the servercouldn’t fully explain them. When I arrived at the bar, there was no bartender behind the bar. After waiting 5 minutes for abartender to return I just simply gave up and returned to my seat. I had ordered the rack of lamb (requested medium rare), and 2other people in my party ordered the tuna (both seared rare). When the plates arrived the tuna was visibly over cooked (closerto medium well) and my rack of lamb was completely well done. No one checked how our dishes came out for over 15 minutes. Therest of my party had close to finished their entrees, including the two tuna dishes because they were tired of waiting for theserver to show up. When the server finally arrived I sent my lamb back and was asked if I would like something else. I may havetaken him up on that offer if the rest of my table weren’t almost done with their meals. So I, as the one celebrating mybirthday, didn’t get to enjoy an entree, and had to fill up on our family style sides (mushroom caps, creamed spinach andsautéed broccoli.) Moving on to the dessert course, I chose the creme brûlée while the rest of the table split 2 orders ofchocolate mousse. The dessert was good, however it unfortunately doesn’t make up for the rest of the shortcomings in thedinner. Not at any point did management stop by to check on us, even though it was made aware that this was a special occasion. For this price point you expect a certain level of quality in food and care of service/hospitality and unfortunately w Read more

First the good. The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered some cocktails which were incredible. Two of us... ordered the Ribeyes and one the lamb chops. The lamb was great and well seasoned cooked perfectly. Now for the bad, the Ribeyescame out in 20 minutes. The were charred and burnt all over. There was absolutely no juice in the steak at all. All you couldtaste was burnt. When mentioning this to the waiter he apologized and brought it to the kitchen. The manager came back andshoved the plate in my face yelling that it was cooked perfectly. He made quite a scene while I calmly explained that it was notup to the quality expected for a steak of this price. The waiters were very nice and it was obvious this was not the first timethe manager yelled at a customer. Would not recommend. Left a big tip for the waiters and left after paying the bill. The bestpart of my meal was the baked potato. Read more

This restaurant was excellent! We went for a Friday night date night. Ambiance was very nice, romantic, lower lighting, pretty... and clean. As soon as we entered the manager greeted us super friendly, personable and recommended we take our time and sit atthe bar to start off with a drink if we’d like and our table was ready as soon as we were ready. The service was exceptional. The waiter checked on us constantly and was accommodating for anything we needed. We got an app of tomato and mozz which wassuper fresh. Lobster bisque was excellent, usually I find this soup to be fishy at most restaurants but not here! Salad wassuper fresh and crunchy and dressing was perfect, just the right amount. We got steak, lobster tails, mashed potatoes andbroccoli and everything was cooked PERFECT and so tasty! The steak was juicy and super tasty! And that’s with it being mediumwell…most people cringe that I get my steak medium well, but they cooked it closer to medium and it was perfect and stilljuicy even though done more than most others typical like steak. Overall we can’t wait to go back and highly recommend it. Read more

Keens in NYC set the bar high for us when it comes to steakhouses. There is something about the way they season the meats with... kosher salt after it comes out of the oven that makes the first bite so amazing. Sparkill's steaks are cooked perfectly, butdoes not compare to Keens in terms of flavor. If you don't want the hassle of driving to the city, then Sparkill Steakhouse is anice place to eat some decent meat. The crabcakes and French onion soup are tasty. The sides were also good. My significantother boss thinks the creme brule is a bit too firm for her tastes and needed more sweetness. The dining room looks nice and thepeople there are competent and professional. We ate during the slow hours so we were the only one there and we can't comment onthe service during typical dinner hours. I would recommend this place if you live around the area and you are craving for somered meat. Read more
