This was our first time dining here, and WOW! We were absolutely blown away. This is definitely a hidden gem in Spartanburg. We... wanted to try both the pizza and a couple of the entrées. I am from New York, so I definitely hold anyone that models theirpizza as "NY Style" it was ALMOST it, still good, but a tad more of a savory sauce blend with a cornmeal bottom would have wonmy heart. Believe it or not, a little cornmeal dusting on the pan before baking adds such a delicious flavor, I miss this. Thedough was fantastic, thickness was great, the cheese and pepperoni was delicious, but I had to get closer to the crust before Ihit sauce. The chicken piccata is probably the best I've ever had, the extra artichokes on the plate was delicious. It had afabulous lemon butter sauce, tender chicken and a lovely flavor. My fiancée has the stuffed shells, he had no complaints.There was plenty of sauce, a generous amount of ricotta and the shells were tender. Definitely can't go wrong with the stuffedshells. Carlos was PHENOMENAL! He was attentive, kept our drinks full and was even sweet enough to bring a tray with one ofeach dessert for us to choose from at the end, I picked the oreo cheesecake and my fiancée got the caramel cheesecake to go. We dined here for a late birthday celebration for me our waiter Francis was new but he was very personable and you could tell he... was doing his best to make our dining experience great. The food was outstanding as it has been the other 2 times we've dinedhere. All 5 of our meals came out together and we're piping out. The bread is addictive you serve. Terrible experience. My wife and I are regular long-time customers of Fratello's. Except for the consistent slow kitchen, we... generally enjoy both dining at the bar and ordering delivery. The experience tonight was terrible. These were the issues: 1.There were five bar stools with four occupied. I stood for thirty minutes. I later learned that two of the bar stools wereoccupied by the bartenders' roommate and her companion. They were not eating dinner. Instead, they had a laptop open playingFantasy Football. One, there is room for more than five bar stools and second, why did the bartender allow a paying customer tostand for thirty minutes when she could have asked her roommate to move to a table? 2. We noticed the other two guests at thebar were drinking beer from Styrofoam cups. They told me the beer glasses were dirty, so the bartender served their beer incups. 3. The television has been removed from behind the bar, so the entire bar area is dark. Really dark! 4. The bartenderseemed a bit clueless and lacking the knowledge of basic customer service. At one point, she asked how we were doing and Iresponded, "Just OK." She did not inquire about why or how things could be improved. 5. The bartender seemed more interested inFantasy Football than her customers. She consistently asked her roommate about Fantasy Football. 6. As usual, the kitchen wasstupid slow. Not enough staff for the volume of orders. I blame the owner for these problems. The bartender seems to have beena poor hiring decision. Not having adequate bar stools is an easy fix. Additional kitchen staff is sorely needed. Mostimportantly, where was the owner tonight? No one seemed be managing the place. It was a laughable joke. Great place for Italian! Really enjoyed the eggplant parmesan. Pasta is fresh and the sauce is delicious. The pizza was... fantastic as well. Highly recommend if your in the mood for Italian. Service was awesome!! Read more
We were a large party and was seated right away. We were attended well. At about the time we expected our entrees a kitchen... Mgr came out and said they were out of the two gluten free dishes. This was one of the reasons we came here. Our waiter Bernlearned of the problem then scurried off. About 5 minutes later he came back saying he found the gluten free pasta. He savedthe day for two of our party. Over all the food was as authentic NY style as could be. More than I thought SC could offer.Foods great and service too. Recommend highly. Read more

Lovely people and even better food. The pizza is great freshly made dough everyday, I've seen them make it. Probably one of the... best lasagnas you'll ever try. And the best meal in my opinion is the Seafood combo, it's like a succulent explosion of richflavours. It comes with Shrimp, Muscles, and Calamari. The Oil is season well so the pasta and the seafood is able to absorbthose flavours so you get a great taste with every bite. Also the Seafood Combo is about 20 dollars or so. But it's comes withso much food you can comfortable split it between two people, and you'll be full and satisfied. Read more
