This is my favorite place to relax, enjoy the good food and attentive service. They are I kind to me. Remember my name, and... because I had been in Texas for months, my amigo asked if I was ok? They had missed me. When they first opened and my grandsonwas staying the summer, he & I would go at @1pm because lunch prices are cheap. We sat and talked for at least two hours. Thestaff made sure our waters were full and just left us to visit. In 2015 I lost my legs. It was very hard to get in and out, butthey saw my truck pull in and actually came outside to get me to a booth in the front. I was touched. I highly recommend thisrestaurant. Read more
I recently moved to the area and tried this place out. I was pleasantly surprised that it was so good. From the hostess to the... wait staff everyone and everything was great. El Ranchero has made itself a staple in Spencer and for good reason. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible, like an... overwhelming art museum and an ocean of colors and details. The food is always hot and fresh, the staff is lively and welcoming,and the price is absolutely affordable. I ordered the pollo con queso and was surprised to see three chicken breasts smotheredin bubbling hot cheese as opposed to just one or two like I would have received in Bloomington's Mexican restaurants. The chipswere crisp yet buttery and hot. The salsa was very flavorful. And the entire atmosphere has the perfect summer night magic. Read more
Food was terrible! Brought us chips and salsa and chips were stale, we asked for fresh chips when the waiter decided to come by... our table which was forever. The ?fresh? chips were stale as well. Food was just slopped on the plates and brought the wrongmeal. When I finally got my meal the taco shell was so stale you could bend it, I do NOT recommend this place Read more
If you enjoy Mexican food and drink this is your choice to go. The wife and I were impressed with the layout of the restaurant... and the decorations. It might be a little over the top for some. The food was good and I enjoyed the 'fajita' lunch special. Thewife had the tacos and rice lunch. They have several different brands of hot sauces to make you feel at home. Read more

Great place for some lunch or dinner! So delicious. The server was funny and took good care of us. Specials are very good.
I love the chimichangas. These folks are really nice!! Their chips and salsa are great, too. Give them a try!
