We celebrated my father?s 70th birthday here, and could not have asked for a better place to do it. Everything was just right.... We made a reservation easily for a Saturday night. The menu is not overpriced, but everyone said each of their dishes werewonderful. I ordered the steak and mashed potatoes. I appreciate that they have only house wines. They don?t mess around withthe fancy stuff. It makes it easy to order. Our waitress was sweet and timely, checking on us often, but not too much. Theybrought yummy garlic knot rolls to start, and they have a good selection of Italian desserts to finish it off. The live musicwas also a huge highlight. The performer had a wide array of songs that he sang, and my parents danced a couple of times. Healso invited them back up at the end of the evening to dance to ?Faniculi, Fanicula.? We had a wonderful first experience at Papa Amadeos! It?s a great little family owned restaurant with amazing ambiance.... Everything was made fresh as you ordered with an open kitchen so you could see the chef work. The flavors were extraordinary; wehighly recommend you try it for yourselves. After looking around for a place for our anniversary dinner, we decided to try Papa Amadeos. My husband is the at-home cook and... I?m the professional taste tester for his fine cooking. Most times when we eat out, one of us usually ends up saying ?yourversion is so much better.? But OMG!! Papa Amadeus is amazing. Their fresh baked bread was warm and delicious and I LOVED thedipping sauce. We had house salads and the dressing was really nice (although next time I will ask for the dressing on the sideas I prefer a minimal amount). My husband ordered the special ? red snapper with almond crust served over a bed of spinach witha mango sauce. It was divine. Fish was perfectly cooked and the flavor was wonderful. I had the linguine with mussels (minus thered pepper flakes because they kill me) with a light and bright lemony cream sauce. TO DIE FOR!!! Even though we were stuffed,we wanted dessert!! I had the cannoli and my had a piece of limoncello cake. They were both awesome. The chef came and saidhello to us when we got to our table. Our server and the sweet fellow who kept our water glasses filled were both lovely. Wecouldn?t have asked for a better anniversary dinner. The service was great, the workers were extremely courteous, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I really wanted to like the food... here, but it unfortunately was not good. The pasta I had was extremely bland (definitely boiled in unsalted water), the stuffedeggplant that I ordered was very tough and bitter, and the cheese on top of the eggplant was overwhelming to where I couldn'ttaste much other than bitterness and oil. I truly wanted to like this food and I would love to come back and give it a secondshot, but my food just was not good enough for the high price (over $20 for my underseasoned dish). Read more
Simply the best dinner I have had. It?s a small, family owned restaurant that survived covid. Don?t expect speedy service or... instant food. Everything is made to order, and it?s a small place. The food was absolutely delicious! I will certainly be back.The wait staff was so polite and helpful. Did I mention the live music? Amazing. 10/10 Read more
I really enjoy the food and staff. I?ve eaten here at least 10 times and it has be excellent every time. Great environment too.
