First time eating here...had a BBQ sandwich and it was awesome. The toasted bun totally wraps the awesome BBQ flavor all up. I... will definitely be returning. First time visit while out and about and this was an excellent place. I got the rib plate and my friends had brisket, sausage,... and chicken. The chicken was a little underdone for her liking, but everything else was excellent. Try the barbecue sauce. Itgives a little kick. Definitely a return trip is warranted. Read more
I'll be honest, it was mediocre at best. The expansive price tag did not match the quality of food. We ordered ribs, brisket... and sausage as the "meat". Sausage was by far the best followed by the ribs. Brisket IMO was 1 star. The sides were good,buttered potatoes, beans and Mac and cheese. Beans were great, so were the potatoes and the Mac and cheese was againmediocre. They have their own sauce. Original and hot, I think the original had more heat than the hot. My mother and I stopped here this morning. 12-3-21 It was roughly 11am so we missed the breakfast window. The cut off time for... breakfast is 10:30am. Upon entry, the establishment appeared very clean. The lady's restroom was very clean. The floors werespotless and plenty of t.p. and paper towels avaliable. The menu is simple, not over complicated at all. We both ordered thechicken with sides. The chicken is ridiculously moist! And the flavor is quite divine. The meat tastes like it just came off agrill. Reminded me of my Uncle's delicious Bar B Que. Anyhow, I ordered potato salad and that was very flavorful. My mother hadthe coleslaw and green beans as a side. Her only dislike were the chunks of ham in the green beans, but she was able to removethem. Arrive with a large appetite because they serve you plenty of food ???? The price is reasonable for the amount of foodreceived. There's plenty of seating inside if you are traveling with a large group. They also have a drive thru if you need yourfood on the go. I highly recommend and will be visiting again in the future ???? Disappointed to say the least. I like to come here every Friday to celebrate the work week being over. As usual I go to the... drive thru. Service is always pleasant. I order a three meat plate and a sweet tea. Drive off and see that they forgot mysausage and gave me super dry brisket. Lady at drive thru apologizes and says she will fix it, what I received looked like halfchewed up brisket with mostly fat (ordered lean). Unacceptable especially when your paying over 25$ for one meal. Not Happy atall. I didn?t bother going to the drive thru again, customers shouldn?t have to drive 3 times through to get decent food. I expected better. I was in the Hill Country this weekend and passed this place a couple of times so I decided to finally stop... today amd get some food to go. I ordered a Chopped Brisket sandwich and the lady at the register asked you mean you want aChopped Beef sandwich? I replied to her NO. I would please like a Chopped BBQ Brisket sandwich. I was under the impression thatShe had never heard of a Chopped BBQ Brisket sandwich? I take my order home in great anticipation to eating some awesome BBQ. Iunwrapped my sandwich and the first thing I noticed is that it looked steamed and lacked the smokey smell? I assumed that sincethe restaurant was named Smokey Mo's I would get food that was considerably smoked. Not only was the food not what I expected,my order was incorrect. I ordered a Chopped BBQ Brisket sandwich and got a sliced Brisket sandwich. Long story short I tooktwo bites out of this sandwich and got rid of it in great disappointment. As always the food is yummy! I feel like it keeps getting more expensive almost $20 just for a chopped baker and large sweet tea... but it's so good I will pay it just not as often! Read more
