We tried Captain D's for the first time today. I did not have too high of hopes for this place and I'm glad I didn't. It was an... okay experience. Really nothing about the meal was a big deal. We ordered the Seafood Feast and the Lobster Rolls. The SeafoodFeast offers a great variety and enough food to easily feed 4-6 people. Plus the price is great! Unfortunately there was a lotto be desired with all of it except the fish and hush puppies, which was the best of the meal. There is a lot of breading on thefish but the flavor was good. The shrimp was bland, crunchy breading but lacking seasoning. Fries were very soft so we put theninto our air fryer to crisp up. I felt the stuffed crab was very odd. I honestly got a hint of cinnamon and clove that made ittaste like a savory spiced donut. It was strange and not enjoyable. The macaroni and cheese was mushy, not very flavorful, myfather actually spit his bite out. The lobster rolls are small however for less than $5 what do you expect? Most lobster rollshave large lump meat not a shredded lobster salad, but they also cost $16+. You get what you pay for. I didn't enjoy the flavorvery much but I'm glad I tried it. Not bad. Fast food fish joint that has other options than just fried fish. Lots of side choices too. Had the whitefish and... shrimp. Was ok. Wasn't bad. For a quick dinner it was ok for my 1st time. I'd go back to try other stuff. Guy behind the counterwas great. Should have got his name. Asked me 3 times if everything was OK, and took our trash. Good guy. ????Also has somepowdered sugar on my tray, we didn't order anything with that. So that was concerning at first till we figured out what it was.And our plates had some grease and seasoning stuck to the bottom, so had to wash up after. Other than than that, ok food, okplace. If I could give 0 stars I would...this salmon was sooo disgusting. It had such a strong fishy smell to it & the taste was... really fishy as well. I know its frozen salmon but I never had salmon smell or taste that strong of fish...needless to say Ididn't finish it bc I was scared that I would get sick from the possible old salmon they served me. I would never go back & whata waste of money! Read more
The place is great. Plan to get it togo though very little seating inside. The food was wonderful. We tried the fish also the... shrimp the crab. I got some chicken our sides where broccoli fries coleslaw. All very good. Also you get hush puppies Chyane notsure I spelled it right was our cashier. Very nice. Another lady checked to make sure we where being taken care of I didn't gether name I do believe she was a manager of some sort though. Everyone was very nice and efficient. The restaurant was veryclean. Prices good. Will definitely be going again very soon. On a side note my cat insisted he had to try my fish. Read more
Ordered the spicy ultimate seafood platter. Did not receive half of the items advertised. Missing hush puppies, a piece of fish,... and the crab things. Kinda annoyed and the fish was not spicy, when I informed them twice with was. Also received a regularPepsi when I asked for diet ??????????? We placed an order online, almost $50 .. all the fried food looked like it turned out great, but Ican eat that so we specially... ordered grilled tilapia with no season which half of the files was missing and the rest was crispy burnt. We stopped by for the first time and were very happy with the entire experience. Chicken and fish were crisp and tender, as... were my shrimp. Service was very fast and friendly and the prices very reasonable. We'll be back! Read more
We decided to pop in and check this place out and see what Captain D's is all about. I have to give it a 5 star rating. We had... the 2 piece fish and the Giant Fish Sandwich. Everything was so good. The hush puppies were amazing! Cooked really well and thefish was great as well. The Okra was a little soft and soggy. I just don't think it was quite fried long enough but close andthe flavor was really good. The restaurant only has 5 tables but the entire place was super clean and well stocked as you cansee in the photos. The manager came around and checked on everyone and that is not expected from a fast food place so I have togive them extra points for that. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would really recommend this place if you're in thearea and need a meal on the run. Read more
