Casa Real Carina & Grill is right across from the Tesla charging station so we thought we would stop for a quick bite to eat,... while our car was charging. The huge place with beautiful aesthetics. The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent.Very surprising that we were able to get authentic Mexican cuisine in Southern, Illinois! Read more

Small details to work out, but the kitchen was very fast and the food was good. Because they've recently reopened in the new... location, there us usually a wait to be seated on weekends. We enjoyed a late lunch during a week day. Read more

My best friend and I were very excited to try the new Casa Real and we regret to share that we were not impressed with our... experience. To sum this up, I will categorize our experience into two categories: grows & glows. Grows: - Too much ice in themarg pitcher, caused the drinks to be over topped with ice cubes. - Our rice and our tacos were cold, as if the food was sittingin the “hot window” for some time. We sent the rice back. The staff microwaved the rice to heat it up. - Our chicken on ourtacos was not seasoned well and it was noticeable. We didn’t send them back though. - Our server had a hard time understandingour orders, but we were very appreciative of his positive attitude. - Even given the times, we deemed the prices too expensivefor the quality. Glows: - We loved the positive atmosphere and good attitudes of the employees. - The menu options wereplentiful and we were impressed with the options. - The flavors, both in the margs, and the food, was good (besides thechicken). - We really enjoyed the new location and the vibes it provided. We hope to see Casa Real grow and improve theirexperience and we hope to try again in a few months. Until then, we will be sticking with other local restaurants. Thank you. Read more

Service was slow. Asked for iced tea and they were out. A person in our group was served raw chicken. Refried beans tasted weird... and were a weird yellow/orange color. My water cup came dirty. Not a lot came on my tacos. Not one to complain, but definitelynot worth the price. Read more

NEW LOCATION OPEN! Next to Scheels it's awesome. Beautiful hand painted murals on walls. Can't wait for outdoor bar... weather. Best Mexican food ever. It's the service that makes it my favorite. Great daily food and drink specials. The OMGnachos are a must try. Read more

It wasn’t bad but it was nothing super. Chips and salsa were like pretty much all the other places so no issues there. I had... the Santa Fe combo. Wasn’t super impressed. Tamale was dry, but the other two things had good flavor, not super amazing butgood. I thought the beans were alright too, though those didn’t come from my meal and were from someone else who didn’t wantthem. Quite honestly, I was still pretty hungry when leaving. However, I liked the atmosphere as it feels authentic andthere’s some cool features. Read more

Home away from home! From a man grown in a 1st generation Mexican family home in Texas. This place has by far wiped all... existence of me and my wife’s home sickness. With a true Latin ambience that makes you want to jump up and dance and food thatis on par with my abuelita’s home cooking. It is a symphony of deliciousness as if the Aztec gods came down to prepare thefoods themselves. We can’t wait to see what else Casa Real has in store as we get settled in from our move. Read more
