I never leave reviews but felt compelled to do so. I was in town for a conference and this place was recommended. It did not... disappoint! The crab stuffed mushrooms were phenomenal! Thee place to dine when in Springfield Illinois! We visit Springfield 3 times a year for our Elks State Convention and we eat... at Chesapeake every time on Friday night Food and drinks are exceptional and the prices are extremely reasonable for thequantity and quality. Michele was our waitress this time I did it fantastic job taking care of the 14 of us! The ambience ofthe restaurant is phenomenal due to the fact that it?s well over 100 years in the making. Reasonable pricing, but it adds up quickly. Would have liked a vegetable choice with dinner. Included side salad was... unremarkable, just chopped head lettuce with a sprinkle of grated cheddar cheese. I expected better mixed greens, tomato,croutons, etc. That should be corrected.
