The only thing I liked on the menu was removed, nobody seated us, nobody bussed our table or refilled our drink. It was all DIY.... Order and pay before you even sit down, including the tip. I have no reason to go back. I hope the cook got that whole tip, hewas the only one working. And the entrance to the parking lot probably damaged my vehicle. Cool. Read more

8/21/22 330pm. Just a few staff working but they did a fabulous job. Cook was also taking orders up front. He was... exceptionally friendly, even with other customers being demanding. Food tasted great! Cook even brought our shake to us, along with taking care of more demanding customers. Way to go!! Read more
Stopped on our way to St.Louis (2:00pm)-I had a bad feeling walking in-dirty windows, dirty tables, prep area was gross,... employees were not welcoming, food was greasy?I should have never entered. This location does not represent the franchise in apositive light! Read more
Driving through Illinois and remembered how great Steak and shake was....yes WAS! It tasted like dog food and had no flavor on... the fries and the shake tasted like it had something else in it that was putrid. Talk about jumping the shark to the quality isused to be. The meat use to be meat but this was something totally different. YUK! I suggest you rethink this food for life. Read more
First time at a Steak 'n Shake. I got the double cheeseburger and my husband ordered the Horseshoe, which is a site-specific... dish. I liked the burger and the fries were pretty good. The Horseshoe was basically a plate with white bread, hamburger, a messof fries and some lightly-flavored cheese sauce over the whole thing. Would not order that again because it was rather bland andwe prefer bolder flavors. The service was outstanding. Both the young man who took our order and the manager were friendly andhelpful. I wish the manager had been wearing a mask. All the other employees were wearing them. Both the interior and exteriorcould use some attention. Neither were particularly clean. Read more
You have to order your food now at the counter, if you want to eat inside. They don't have wait staff anymore. You have to get... your own stuff, like drinks, etc. The reason why people go is to be waited on. This new concept is dumb. I will not go back Read more
