I’m not a fan of German or Central European cuisine but I’ve been here 3 times and every time was great. The food is... excellent and the pretzels are to die for. Great beer selection. Absolutely the best restaurant in western/central New England. Went there for Oktoberfest, reservation allowed us to be seated... immediately. Wonderful Bavarian ambiance, authentic beers and dishes, fantastic collection of steins! Always knowledgeable,personal and efficient wait staff! Always a special treat to go there! The German beer selection on tap is second to none. Have a flight of 4 beers of your choice: highly recommend. There are... authentic beer mugs lining up walls and the ceiling. Also there is a great collection of corkscrews under the glass. Theambience is awesome and the staff is really helpful. The veal schnitzel was average and the strudel was not where Iexpected. I’ve been coming here for years and this restaurant is always consistent. Game month is a MUST! The fried Camembert cheese is... AMAZING! Tonight I had the lamb shank which was so flavorful. I’ll be dreaming of it for days to come. My waiter Dennisrecognized my friend and I and even remembered our drinks!! INCREDIBLE SERVICE! This place was absolutely amazing and went beyond my expectations! I feel like when I try new restaurants I'm never really blown... away, things can taste average. Not this place. I could not believe how good the food was. Big hearty portions and a good amountto choose from. The building is beautiful and very well maintained. There is a lot of history about the location and they havemany objects and pictures around the resturant.staff was very friendly and accommodating, and gave us some history on thebuilding! We had a delicious lunch, Pinot noir, draft beer and a wonderful Black Forest cake. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.... The ambiance really cute with the Christmas decorations. Read more
