We enjoyed the food but the customer service isn?t as good as most places. Our server was fine, and we left tips on top of the... added gratuity because we are the kinds of patrons restaurants want their servers to have. For the owners reference, she wasdressed in all brown for a Cars character (Halloween). Today we went to lunch after church with friends, as we were serving foodto the kids we knocked over a drink on to a grinder and needed it remade. Accidents happen and normally restaurants are graciousand will remake a dish at no cost to the customer- we know this because not only are we all former servers at variousrestaurants, my family has owned restaurants for years. They charged us for a new sandwich and it took longer to come out thanour original order. Really irritating, but we weren?t mad enough to leave a bad review until we look over at our server tellinga manager we were unhappy about that (and we still paid and didn?t ask for it to be taken off) and the manager look over andlaugh at us for being surprised we were charged for it. We went from all loving it and saying we were coming back to beingdisgusted at the rudeness and not wanting to come back. We will try Marco?s! Weve been here several times and tried a variety of the menu. The food is really good. Sometimes you might wait a bit for the... food or if they are busy the service can be somewhat slow. The servers are friendly but the speed can be hit or miss. As far asthe food I would recommend the pizza but the grinders are good too. They have decent garlic cheese bread. Read more
More info- had the Chicken cordon Bleu grinder...! Oh boy. Almost as good as their turkey grinder... almost. Another update - I... am still at 5 stars, the meat eater pizza is amazing. We also got turkey grinders to go. Something is different about thelettuce, kale maybe? Not sure what the change is but the lettuce is not as good as before. I still think it's a great sandwichbut I order it without the lettuce . Update- the Turkey grinder is still one of the best sandwiches in Springfield. TheMeateater Pizza is so delicious. I'm gonna leave it 5 but I'm disappointed that they areclosed on Mondays. To add to the frustration, I had a pic of their front door with the hours. It says they are open. Only afterdriving there and finding them closed did I see a tiny print piece of typing paper sign on the door showing the Monday hours hadbeen crossed out and "closed" hand written on the paper. The door still has the Monday hours. Myself as well as anotherpotential customer were disappointed. I did eventually look online and see they are closed on Mondays. ? You could say its on meas I could have checked online but then why even have the hours on the door if they are wrong? ????
