Not many places in Springfield that you can dress up for dinner although yoy can absolutely go casual. Seth our server made it... extra special. He was attentive, but not overbearing. The food was outstanding. A 100 on Presentation . Thank you for makingour evening special. Read more

Made reservations for my parents anniversary and I haven’t seen them that happy in a while. The whole experience was amazing... for them and they absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was beautiful my mom stated and the staff were phenomenal and on top oftheir stuff . The food is beyond exceptional for what you get and it’s a wonderful place. The service is amazing. Extremely polite and helpful employees from the greeter to the server to even the chef and busboy/girls.... I never was without anything from drinks to even removing tableware away to make room for other things. I especially appreciatedthat it didn’t matter how I was dressed - I was most definitely not in my Sunday’s best - yet I was treated like I was aVIP. I also appreciated how the server - I wish I knew his name - balanced his attention not only me but to his other tablesand kept up with knowledgeable information regarding the food and drinks. He was extremely patient that I never once feltrushed and he seemed to sense when I needed something. The chef delivered my food and asked and even waited to make sure my foodwas up to par. The greeter was very kind and she even remembered that it was my birthday from the moment I entered until Iwalked out. Actually the entire staff that waited on me were very attentive. I was curious about something that the server evenbrought it out to show and explain about the difference of the wagyu steak compared to another of the same cut but from adifferent cow. Everything was delicious and ended it greatly. I will say this, you will not be leaving hungry! The sizes areenormous! I wish I remembered to take a picture of the salad. It honestly looked like half of the romaine lettuce you get froma store was served with a generous topping and dressing was enough to fill its purpose without seeing the salad drown. Highlyrecommend the filet mignon! Unless you’re willing to fork over the money, the wagyu might be something to pass over. Maybe itwas just me but I found the steak to be overly seasoned that I barely tasted the wagyu; I would not say it was worth the highdollar amount for it. The risotto was nice and I’ve only had it once before at a different restaurant so I am guessing it’ssupposed to be salty but delicious. The cake serving was enormous!! So this was just the table setting, but I took the photo while waiting for my husband to arrive. Once the waiter came and the... food arrived… we had such a good time that I didn’t think to take more photos. Order the bacon wrapped dates. Order oysters.Order wine…. Everything on the menu is perfection. On this visit, my husband had the ribeye and I had the ahi tuna (and againI’m sorry for no photos!). Both were not only delicious but beautifully presented. What a dam dinner shesh where to start.... bone in Tomahawk is great steak I put most High end steaks in this "2" category like... ruth Chris and Barry's in vegas.. its a great steak with good marbling.. the Atlantic lobster was gamy and rich with flavor..the shirmp cocktail was strong and fresh just how I like it.. if the cocktail sauce doesn't clear my nose I don't want it lol..Ihad a 17 year Elijah Craig's to wash the meal down and mineral water everything was amazing tip top stop like you would expectin only the BEST steakhouses... my server was friendly and full of life a complete delight made my experience extremelyenjoyable... overall I was blown away at a place like this In Missouri...wow what gem. The king crab leg as great aswell.. I hadthe banana ???? foster for dessert and it was great.. this is great place for you if you demand the best... don't hesitate toeat here just bring your pocketbooks ???????? Read more

Best vegan dining in Springfield! I recently dined at Char for a beautiful occasion with my wife. I called ahead to ask if they... could make some vegan options and they said they could easily make some vegan options, in fact they insisted. They put togethera multi-course feast and it was easily the best dining experience I’ve ever had. They started with bacon wrapped datesstuffed with goat cheese. Next we had lentil meatballs half smothered with tangy marinara and half with a luscious heavy creammushroom sauce, both of which paired magnificently. We then moved onto a sumptuous shiitake and grilled tofu miso wonton soup.It was breathtaking, and did I mention all vegan? We then had a spinach and mixed green salad with fried brussel sprouts andpickled caraway tossed in a citrus vinaigrette and topped with feta. We also had a main course of grilled chicken and pineappleon a bed of buttery mashed potatoes with a vegetable demi gravy and stuffed portabella mushroom. The coup de grâce was a peanutbutter chocolate cookie bar with Askinosie chocolate and vanilla bean coconut ice cream. The amount of detail to the flavorpairings within each dish was incredible. They definitely know what works well together and how to push the boundaries ofadventure for vegan fare. I didn’t think the best vegan restaurant I could dine at in my 13 years of a plant based eatingwould be in Springfield MO, but Char Steakhouse is it. Call ahead, ask for vegan food. Had a reservation here for around 7:30 for me and girlfriend. At great seats after we arrive within a minute or two. We had the... best server ever. Had a good sense of humor and a sense of service that was top level. Tried multiple different oysters, lobsterMac and cheese, Ribeye steak with lobster tails, and took home a dessert. It was all amazing. I will say the lobster Mac andcheese or the Steak with the horseradish cream sauce were the best . The S'More cream Brulee was to die for. I'm not shocked atall that it's owned by the same person who owns Flame. Both restaurants are well worth the money. Read more
