An old icon of the city. Food is authentic. No fresh made margaritas was disappointing. The Mexican villa beer was refreshing.... Tamales were good. They are known for their salsa. They had a variety of heat. The mild had some sweetness to it. Overall a goodstop in Springfield. What they didn't have in atmosphere they made up for with authentic food. Read more

We love going here this is by far the best of all the Mexican villas. Throughout the years we've been to every one of them used... to go to El Taco but their menu has changed so much from the old days. Actually that's before the pandemic. I had the Sanchoenchilada style with beans and rice it was huge it was had excellent taste. Your wife had a combo plate. The wait staff was veryfriendly and gladly helped us with our meal whatever we needed. I get the taste for Mexican Villa I play this will be the oneI'll be going to. Read more

This restaurant is one of my favorites! Good food in large portions, at reasonable prices, made with a tex-mex flavor. A... Springfield tradition. They offer a sweet sauce for those that can't do a hot sauce and they offer a really, really, hot saucefor the fire eater. If you like Mexican with an American flavor... this is your place. Kid friendly, handicapped restroom andparking, all at an affordable price. I would recommend! Read more

Being born and raised in the southwest I have had way more than my fair share of mexican food. Mexican Villa's food tastes good... however it does miss the mark a little bit... when I sat down they served warm tortilla chips but NO salsa... I am not sure ifsomeone just doesn't know BUT customarily chips and salsa are placed on the table soon after the customer is seated at the tablefollowed closely by someone taking the drink order... i ordered an ice tea that was delicious and brewed perfectly. For dinner Ihad the beef burrito enchalada style. This burrito is made with ground beef as apposed to a seasoned shredded beef but stilltasted good regardless. I did not care for the level of sauce applied to the burrito. My dinner was literally swimming inenchalada sauce leaving me feel like I was eating a soup or a chile instead of a burrito. My waitress was Araya according to myreceipt. She was pleasant to speak to and was both accurate and speedy when taking my order and refilling my drink. Not once wasmy glass empty and that was due to her great waitress skills and her attention to detail. After my dinner was complete she madesure that my dirty dishes were whisked away promptly and my check was placed on the table very professionally. This is not a badreview but rather me comparing this restaurant to some of the country's BEST mexican food restaurants found all around thesouthwest United States. This restaurant would hold its own among others in my opinion. I would love to see a shredded beefoption added to the menu and a salsa made from scratch to enjoy the chips with. I definately suggest this restaurant to anyonecurious about mexican food. I will certainly return. Thank you! Read more

Dine in. Server was pretty fast in greeting me and taking my order. She checked on me several times. Food was excellent. Getting... pretty pricey. I understand prices go up when the cost of food goes up. They need to make a profit too. Burrito enchilada stylewith tax is a little over $16. Read more

This is a Springfield favorite. Visit the OG location for the true, Villa style. It's Tex Mex with a Springfield flair. My... oldest says....If Taco Bell was a restaurant....Mexican Villa would be it. Get the Burrito Enchilada style and a taco. Read more

Mexican villa is a Springfield MO staple. The "burrito enchilada style" much like the "cashew chicken" was invented in... Springfield and has been a very popular dish among Springfield residents and had been for nearly 50 years. There are severalMexican villa locations that all serve delicious Americanized Mexican food. The wait staff is always very nice and friendly andquick to take care of your needs. The hot sauce is also a Springfield treat that is crazy hot and delicious. I absolutely loveit and once I begin eating I cannot stop. Get into Mexican villa and order yourself a burrito or sancho enchilada style..youwon't be disappointed. And be careful..the top playe is always hot! Btw..all of you silly people saying "it's not authenticMexican food" are moorons. They're not trying to be authentic. Everyone knows it's not authentic. Additionally..show me someauthentic Mexican food anywhere around here..you're not going to. You?ll have to go much closer to Mexico to find that..it's notin Springfield I assure you. Read more

Waited for a while to be seated. Waitress was super nice. My $11 burrito had what tasted like Campbell's chicken soup chicken... and an entire can of refried beans. No sauce, no cheese, canned jalapenos, and a packet of sour cream. Salsa is similar to Pacepicante. Not trying to be mean, but it was awful. Read more
