This Steak n Shake was by far the BEST Steak n Shake I have ever been to. We happened to stop here on our way down to Busiek.... The burger and fries were phenomenal almost as if this Steak n Shake has it's own way of cooking things and flavor. It's notlike any other I have been to. I do highly suggest if you have anything on your roof to not go through the drive through. Wewere down to mountain bike. So we had our bikes on the top of our car. My boyfriends bike that the displeasure of hitting theawning. The awning is fine but I can't say the same for his bike. The screws on the awning scratched his handle bars pretty bad.Other than that this place was great! Read more
So the hours on Google is wrong. STEAK 'N SHAKE CLOSES AT 10PM. The people there are very nice hard working people. The food is... good and the servers are all very nice. Also if you walk in and set down without them sitting you they will not know if someonehas gotten to you yet or not it's better to always wait to be seated if your wanting good service. ???? I went in and ordered a side salad with grilled chicken. Only to be told 10 minutes later we are out of grilled chicken. I told... the waitress I can?t eat beef due to been allergic to it. Fun road trip stop at a Historic Route 66 Steak and Shake. Burgers were tasty and fries were crisp.
Server was nice. Food was meh. My fries almost taste burnt. It was cool to see a nostalgic steak and shake.
If there's a negative star. THIS WOULD BE IT. The cashier was the only one who cared in this place. He started cleaning after... all the customers got their orders. It was only after 15mins. Since it was busy. Got in for a shake after a Halloween party.And this chaos greeted us. Mind you. We only ordered one shake. It took us 20mins to get it cause they werent looking at theorder screen nor even cleaning. They were only standing and talking. As a good citizen of Springfield, I thought this should beaddressed. The manager was there the whole time talking to the lady crews. Overheard a conversation. She said that she justmoved to this branch and that all places are hiring. Sounded like she didnt wanna work hard bcuz of it. Cashier even calledtheir place a wasteland. It took 20mins of chatting before the manager saw us waiting. She said sorry and told the crew to makeit. Saw the cook putting the top buns near the rug that you see on the pics. He also wipe with that rug on the bun tray. Thebuns are uncovered. Fries are all over the place. Raw or cook. All tables are uncleaned. Food everywhere. We sat in the barstools and no. Those arent our drinks or napkins. Just a terrible place to eat. Put us off of steak and shake.???????????? End point. The only place that were busy was the cook and the cashier. The food good for Steak n Shake. However, our server did not even bring our drinks out as we waited for 25mins just for those.... We did not even get to the ordering part. The place had 1 table that was clean, it can be understandable that being shortstaffed is a major problem, but there is a way of still making customers feel welcomed. Read more
