We have been to the Cajun House a few times and thus I was surprised I have not done a review of this restaurant. My son had... the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo which was nice and hot, temperature-wise, and reasonable spicy. I tried it and we both enjoyedit. For the main meal, my son had the Filet Mignon Ya-Ya which is described as broiled twin medallions of beef tenderloin whichis served on a red current, port demi-glace sauce. My son said it was OK , but also above average quality. It is probably justnot the type of steak we are used to having for supper. I had the Breaded Veal Panne, which was veal escalopes, served withpasta tossed with basil cream sauce. To me, the sauce needed to be a bit more of it since the pasta soaked up most of it. Theveal had little taste and when I asked my son; it surprised him since he thought it tasted like chicken, not veal. It was nicebut not a lot of taste. All in all, it was a good meal. The Gumbo was the best part of the meal. The service was great. Shewas attentive and answered all our questions. We found it cold, we mentioned it to her, and she was able to increase the heat tomake it palatable. Yes we would go back. Read more

My first visit to this restaurant. Mid week lunch break. I ordered the Chicken Po-Boy - with spinach peppered pecan salad. The... sandwich was delicious, and the salad also was very tasty. The service was excellent, very friendly server and prompt service. Awise choice to share a dessert, we chose Banana Indulgence?generous serving, a large portion with enough sweetness for 2people. Thanks Cajun House! See you next time I?m in St. Albert! Read more

The staff here were super accommodating to our needs. They let us pay when our food arrived so we could leave at our leisure, as... we were running a little late to a theatre showing. The server was super friendly and cheerful. Very respectable. They checkedin on us just enough. Give those servers a wage boost! Food wise, I was expecting a really strong spice component. It was alittle mild? But I think that's good for a majority of people XD. I'm just a more spicey person lol. The dishes we seasoned willjust not aggressively as you normally imagine cajun food. Scallops were cooked super crispy! Most of the seafood component waswell cooked and not rubbery at all. So good on the chefs! I also had frogs legs for the first time! It was very mild not what Iwas expecting meat wise. Read more

First time to the Cajun house. Totally empty at the time we came, mid afternoon. I ordered the combo plate which had Louisiana... Jambalaya, shrimp Creole, beans and sausage. Everything was was excellent except the sauce that the shrimp was in. I've neverhad Creole sauce before, smell like yummy tomatoes but tastes nasty. The shrimp that was in the sauce were very excellenthowever. Lost a star for the sauce. Read more

The food was delicious, friendly waiter! The Gombo is to die for. The food was also fast and fresh. The only thing I?d say that... needs improvement is their sliced bread that came with the smoked salmon appetizer ( it didn?t taste fresh). But overall niceambiance and wonderful service! I?ll visit again! Read more
