Small location in the rural region of Waterloo. Heard about this place from a family member that their speciality is pork hock... (foot). The atmosphere is of an old tavern which gives classic feels. We ordered the special family set as well as broastedchicken. Sides include fries, coleslaw, sauerkraut and frozen vegetables. The pork hock combo was absolutely amazing. Everymeat that was given (hock, ribs, brisket) were delicious and soft and fatty. The fries were fantastic, top 3 of all time and thesauerkraut was perfect with just the right amount of sourness and tart feeling. The broasted chicken was crispy and fresh, bigpieces as well. The batter and crisp is eons better than fast food joints. Ordered a black beer which was light and had a greataftertaste (not usually a beer drinker myself) If you're ever in Waterloo, stop by this location as this is a must to try. Read more

Amazing German food. A unique experience. The pork platter was enough for 4 people, which is a great deal! Service was great,... and we did not have wait for long at all. Oddly enough, we felt like the coleslaw was the best of them all since it made allthe meat feel less heavy to eat. Visited on the 10th of September 2022. Read more

I heard this restaurant is famous for their pork hock and this was my first visit. I made a reservation for noon. There were a... lot of tables available when we arrived but they were filled up quickly. Reservation is recommended. The staff was friendlyand attentive. The decor, tables and chairs were a bit old. We ordered the pork combo and it came with a lot of food. Thepork hocks were not bad, but we feel like it would be better if it comes with some dipping sauce. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Read more
