Had an awesome lunch here. Wasn't an upscale atmosphere if that's what you're looking for, but food and service were great. We... started by sharing an order of cod tongue. I had a cod burger with kale Caesar salad as a side - both were delicious. Otherswith me had veggie burger and regular burger both with kettle chips, and also a chowder - all were great. I need to revise my rating. Several months ago I had a great experience. This morning less so. I sat on the patio full of... optimism for my brunch, hopefully a repeat experience since last time. I was left unattended for about 15 min, then once Iordered it was another 37min to get my breakfast. I felt unattended to at the back of the patio and it was almost an hour beforeI received my food. This time the experience did not leave me with the same satisfaction as previously. This place came recommended by a local friend and did not disappoint! Massive portions for very reasonable prices - I got the... breakfast poutine and my partner got the Tex Mex Breakfast Waffle Nachos. Both were excellent. We went to Bernard and Stanley Gastropub two times during our week stay on the island. The food was exquisite with plenty of... vegan and gluten options. The entire crew made it feel like home, especially Steve who waited on us both times! It was myfavorite dining place in all of St. John's, a city that is known for its remarkable food. Decided to try this place out this morning. My waffles looked more like mutilated pancakes that had the consistency of rubber... and the taste was on par to rubber too.
