There is no better place to go in St. John's to get an authentic English pub dining atmosphere. On top of that, the food is... excellent, well priced, and the service is friendly and prompt. Read more

Went to have dinner. We waited for ever to get served. The waitress finally showed up and we said we were ready to order. She... replied she "didn't have that on her mind she would take our drink order" We said no we were ready to order and she said againshe only would take our drink order. We left. The last couple times we have been there the service was horrible. We won't bothereating there again. Read more

We stayed at the Guv?nor Inn & Pub as the price was good and other hotels were all booked up. I stayed there before with my... parents as a child and enjoyed it so figured this was a decent place to stay. Well fair to say the hotel hasn?t been updated in20-30 years! The hotel room smelled of stale air despite the AC being on. The rooms were small with a sticky spot on our carpet. The bathroom was clean but small. There was no housekeeping available during our stay; asking for towels daily. The service atthe front desk was very kind and welcoming and the location is central which is perfect for getting around the city. We didn?ttry the pub food but I?ve heard good things about it. Overall it?s ok for a cheap 1-night stay but I definitely wouldn?t stayany longer if I had other options. Read more

We've been dining here for years but things have changed. My husband ordered whole-wheat bread but got white. My spinach dip was... not hot and I had to bring it to the bar to ask it to be re-heated. I didn't get a napkin. I asked for 5 oz glass of wine butreceived 8 oz. And no Smithwicks. Always out. This may sound like small things but adds up to a not enjoyable meal we missFlorence! Read more

This place isn?t half bad. It?s probably the best place to stay if you?re passing by in St. John?s. The Wi-Fi is pretty slow;... however, the establishment picks up for itself. Rooms upon thorough inspection are kept well clean. I stayed in two rooms on mytrip there, due to an accidental of two nights rather than three. First room was spacious, well kept and clean. The second roomwas much smaller but still clean; however, there was a small (2-3 inches) impact hole in the wall. If you want to stay here justbe mindful of the people that stay there, some smoke and loiter outside at night. Read more

Building maintenance regarding the aesthetic appeal of the exterior is lacking. But not a turn off, especially for the cost, ... which is reasonably priced. If I could suggest anything, it would be to fix the decorative lights surrounding the parking lotand rooms of the inn. Over half are gone out and it just looks neglected. But the interior is well kept and maintained. Veryclean. Rooms are very very warm but that's easily fixed by a guest, based on their own preferences. Read more

The oldest Inn in North America. Rooms are small but very clean . The pub is is very nice but appeared under staffed during my... stay . Once the meal was served the server did not reappear to see if you needed anything else during your meal such as anadditional beverage or condiment. The sole server was also bartender , phone order clerk, greeter, server, and table cleanerwho only returned to service your table on completion of the meal . Menu items are good . The Inn provides discounts to medicalguests and veterans . I stayed one day and night . I found the Inn to be quiet . Rooms have TV with full channel range, airconditioner, small micro wave and fridge, coffee and tea maker with complimentary coffee and tea. There are VLTs in the Pub. Read more
