I'm gonna give an objective review since I'm not from NL and because I've only been there once. The cafe in itself is cute with... a warm ambiance. First I was disappointed because I expected them to offer a variety of coffee like espresso but they only haveregular filter coffee which isn't bad. Then, the service wasn't bad, but it was kinda strange.. From what I could grasp, Ithink employees there are being rehabilitated to society by being offered a job at this cafe by the church. Please, tell me ifI'm wrong. I think it's great! More places should do this. But like I said it was kinda strange.. I think one of the serverdidn't like my boyfriend and he was giving him weird intense looks. I had to point it out. Then, the food was good. I had theapplebutter grilled cheese. But the portion is too small for the price. I can't give a better rating because of these reasons.I'm still glad I tried it. Read more

This teeny café is delightful. It?s not cramped, there is no uncomfortable banquette seating (thank the gods!) and it?s open... and sunny in the morning. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious (we both had the heartybreakfast with sausage) and we were tempted by dessert afterwards but couldn?t have fit it in! We will definitely return though. Read more

If you are in the area, eat here. If you are nowhere near the area, make the journey to come eat here. You will not regret it.... The food is amazing and delicious. I would 100% marry the chef for their soup of the day. Ambiance is adorable, relaxing and onpoint. Everything I could ask for in a cafe is here: curtains to show off the windows and draw attention to the naturallighting, copious amounts of houseplants, expert use of accent lighting. I honestly never want to eat anywhere else. Read more

The ambiance of the place is good with giant windows. It's very bright and clean. The fresh little flower vase was a nice touch.... The food is alright. Although it's unique, it's a little bit pricey. I liked the Mimosas here. Tried the soft shell moose tacosand breakfast on the bun with potatoes and salad. The dessert was delicious. The covid protocols are being practiced and thetables spread apart. Read more

Short menu, short wine list and the very freshest ingredients at the Hungry Heart Cafe! Plus, the restaurant has a mission to... train people who have barriers to employment. A feel good experience, all way 'round! Read more

We came here for lunch after landing in St Johns. After sitting on a plane, this simple to the point meal was perfect. I didn't... leave feeling heavy or hungry. I loved it even more after finding out that they do this as a social enterprise to helpvulnerable adults and help get them into the food service industry. The service was really good and the food and atmosphere isperfect. There is a small outside area to eat but we just sat inside by the window. It's a lovely cafe to have lunch. We didn'tneed reservations or have to wait in line and came in 30 minutes before they were expected to close. We never felt rushed orlike we were being waited for. I would say the cost is acceptable and for the cause, I would say that it is well worth payingfor. Would definitely return to have lunch. Read more

Really fantastic cafe. Came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was delicious without feeling too heavy or... over-seasoned, and there was a good mix of traditional fare as well as more contemporary/creative options. Ambience was cozy butnot cramped and space was well-lit. Service was friendly and very quick. Read more
