Was my first time. Such a wonderful evening. Old school class with excellent food. Justine gave excellent service. We weren't... rushed and completely enjoyed our conversation and time. First timer. Had driven by multiple times, finally decided to try it. Definitely like the old school vibe. Servers were regulars... (ours has been there 12yrs). A unique stat given the new servers in the industry since covid. The bread chips as a starter wereok. Would have preferred the dinner rolls with salad. But no make or break there. Ordered the Caesar salad. Enjoyed it. Lettucewas fresh not from a bag. Dressing was enough but not too much. Steak and shrimp were good. Could do without the mushrooms andglaze. But the steak was good. Hash browns were excellent. Definitely could tell they weren?t out of a bag. Have I had better?Yes. Would I go back? Yes. Demitra was excellent and explained everything for a first timer. Was a bit disappointed the ownerdidn?t stop by the table to see how everything was. We were so excited to visit this place. My experience was AWFUL. The owner talks to his hard-working staff like dirt, the food... was terrible and ridiculously overpriced and the restaurant itself, decor and cleanliness, especially the entry way and thewomen's restroom made me feel like I was in a 1960's mobile home that hadn't been cleaned or updated one bit. The staff shouldgo work somewhere they can be proud of and be treated nice like the people they seem to be. What a shame! Absolutelydisappointing. Read more
I'm not going to slam a restaurant for pricing during the pandemic, but the food was mediocre at best. Under seasoned, and out... of date. My shrimp was way over cooked, the filet was covered in sauce and raw mushrooms, twice baked potato was bland, and thesalad was way over dressed. I know restaurants are struggling right now, but when your serving half or less of your usualcustomer base, there is no reason for a $70 meal to not be perfect. Read more
I ordered the extra large sirloin and creamed spinach, and my wife had the salmon and twice-baked potatoes. Excellent food. The... dinner rolls are large and stout and very delicious. I was impressed that the large cut of steak was cooked as ordered. It wastender and juicy. Many who are used to slopping sauces and seasonings all over their steaks may not appreciate the simplegoodness of the Charcoal House. It really was a fine steak. The sides were homemade and delicious. The building is small andthe decor needs updating, but I didn't notice a musty smell that other reviewers mentioned. Read more
