I am from Chicago, this restaurant was recommended by a friend who travels to St. Louis frequently for business. The atmosphere... was charming for a formal restaurant, the lighting was very low and the lighting kept changing throughout our meal. I didn'tknow there was a dress code, while my wife and I were dressed fine my two teenaged sons were wearing dress shorts and shirts thehostess didn't approve and had a chip on her shoulder the moment we walked in. The food was good nothing special. The service wereceived from the waiters and bus boys was outstanding !!!! My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here. It was such a lovely balance of delightful ambience, old-school... service and class combined with amazing flavors accenting the quality food. An unforgettable experience. I particularlyappreciated the quality of the food presented as well as the attentiveness of all of the wait staff. They were a perfect balanceof attentive but not too familiar. what a perfect evening to celebrate 52 years of marriage with my best friend!! Great dinner and most excellent martinis to start... the evening!! Not super thrilled with our first experience at Dominic’s. Bartender was rude when I walked in and asked if this was the front... entrance as there is no waiting room, no sign that says wait to be seated, no host or hostess, no indications that we actuallyentered the right door. Just felt awkward and had to stand around for a minute waiting to be seated. Food was good but notgreat. Lobster was seared a bit much and had some very hard chewy bits. Again, it was good but nothing I’d rave about.Honestly thought the sauce on the Lobster Al Gusta ($55) was rather bland. Had to wait 10+ minutes for our check after havingour final dishes taken. My girlfriend liked her pasta but agreed that the overall experience was not worth the money. You canget the same quality food at much cheaper restaurants with better service. Personally don’t plan on returning and would rathergo to Gitto’s or Tony’s if I’m spending $30+ a plate. Read more
The dinner here was absolutely spectacular! Presentation of tableware, meals & the service from the amazing servers, EXCELLENT!... Every bit of our time this evening was excellent. Magical! Service and food were good. Inability to divide a check was not ok. Server gave some nonsensical explanation as to why he... couldn’t separate the checks. He said that the owners had decided not do it anymore because of a negative experience? Itwould have taken the restaurant 5 minutes to provide them a service. But they couldn’t be bothered. Won’t be returning toan establishment that can’t be bothered to assist on a $500+ check. Read more
