I am fortunate that I live on the Hill. I am in walking distance to all of St Louis' great Italian restaurants. Closest to me... - which is a mixed blessing because of how yummy and close it is - is Joe Fassi's. I say "mixed" because I want to eat thereevery day! And I have come close a couple of times! It's not a far enough walk to balance the calories! What can Isay....their sandwiches are So. Good. Love the poor boy, the hot salami, the meatball, and so many others. So. Good. Lastweek, I changed things up and ordered some pasta with Italian sausage and....wow. I have been missing out. I would put thispasta up against any of the fancy Italian restaurants on the Hill. Just tangy and delicious. Now it will be even harder tostay away!! Love Joe Fassi's! Read more

I had the meatball sandwich and wife had the sausage sandwich, WOW, they were the best we've had. We found this shop totally... by accident. We were just driving through St.Louis around lunch time so we just did a search for sandwich shops nearby. Excellent find great food and easy to find. Read more

What a fun little place with an awesome owner and delicious sandwhiches! I had the meatball sub and it was honestly the best sub... I have ever had. The meatballs are so delicious, the sauce is awesome and not too acidic and the cheese bread was perfect. Allthe way around I would highly recommend giving Joes a try! Read more

Great little deli in a nice neighborhood. We had the Joe Fassi Pranzo salad and the Poor Boy sandwich. Both were very good... and good portions. Service was very great, friendly. We will definitely go back. Read more

I was not impressed. It was decent, but nowhere near the quality for the price. I know prices are high right now, and everyone... is struggling. I ordered the hot salami, which appeared to be the same sausage as my wife's Aunt Jennie Salsiccia. There was anundisclosed upcharge for the bread. My wife didn't want chips, so the person behind the counter said, "do you want a small pastasalad instead?" Yes, I would! 5 dollar charge for basically a bowl of dressing. My "hot salami" sandwich had more onions andyellow mustard than meat. I would say, no more than 3oz of meat per sandwich. $45.85 for a light lunch. No need to go back. I'llstick with Gioia's. That is if I can ever afford to eat out again! Thanks for the inflation, capitalist pigs! Read more
