The presentation of the food was nice. I ordered a margarita it was very small for $12. They have no specials. I ordered the... crab empanada Which was the nastiest unseasoned thing I have ever taste. I didn’t like the tamales at all, I was some mushroomthing on the small plate option, it was gross. The pork tacos taste like they were cooked in old grease. The atmosphere wasfine. I’ll never return. This is the first review ever left, that’s how bad it was. Read more

This highly rated restaurant did not disappoint. First ambiance was very hip and chill. The servers were both knowledgeable and... attentive. The pace of service was fantastic. Amazing drink selection. Margaritas were the best in town. As an extra treat theyhad a nice selection of Sotol. We had the small plates. Tacos, Tamalpais, enchiladas. All amazing but the vegetarian enchiladaswere extra special. For dessert we had the Charros. Great experience. I also enjoyed the fact the patio is dog friendly. Myminature poodle also enjoyed the corn chips Read more

Our group of five found Nixta on a quick overnight stay in The Grove. We found the ambiance to be charming and the service to be... incredibly friendly! That being said, the price point for the menu items was anything but “casual”. Our server clarified forus that the small plates were “shareable” and that the large plates could be split amongst the table, this was not the case.We found that the small and large plates were not enough for even one person, but more so that each dish was a very overpricedtapas situation. Although the small amount of food we ordered was quite delicious, we definitely felt “nixted” from aportion standpoint. Read more

We had such a great first visit to Nixta yesterday evening. After an evening stroll around the Botanical Gardens, we decided to... give Nixta a try. The vibe is colorful, cozy, and romantic - and reminded us of our honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas. We were warmlygreeted and though we didn't have reservations, we were lucky to grab seats at the bar. Our server/bartender Zachary was great. The food is next-level Mexican cuisine. We enjoyed the Smoked pork enchiladas, Cochinita pibil, and Yucca fries; all wereabsolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We look forward to a return visit! Read more

Everything was super yummy. I suggest ordering all the dips if you’re dining with a group, it’s more than enough for... everyone to share. That said, the guacamole was fantastic, and a very generous portion. The steak fajita and the crab empanadawere great. I also had the ceviche but it wasn’t my favorite, but my friends enjoyed it a lot. Will definitely be back in thefuture! Read more

Food was really good and the Baja style fish tacos were extremely well done. The tortillas were nicely warmed and the fish was... well battered and good sized pieces. The chips were also extremely good and the salsa held its own very well. The guacamole wasvery creamy and tasted fresh, and the service was also attentive. The only downside would be the margaritas which were just okand the tacos could have used a side such as some rice or beans. Read more
