It is such a lively atmosphere overall and the servers are very nice. The cocktails might be $14 but they are too good!... Recommend making a reservation especially on the weekends otherwise you may be limited to 2 hours. Read more

They can make a drink here! The drinks were delicious and beautiful to boot. The service was top notch from multiple people.... The music was really good and the entire atmosphere was swanky, sexy, cool, and chill. Great place for a date or to bringco-workers or out-of-towners to look cool and in the know. I will definitely be back. Read more

My friends and I visited Takashima Record Bar - for two of us it was our first time. It’s got a super cool vibe and the whole... intent is to chill and listen to the music. They have an extensive drink list, but to be honest, it was super bougie and notclear. Luckily the drink I chose was delicious - Love and Happiness. I highly recommend it! The plates are more for sharing… Ifelt that the Charcuterie plate was way overpriced for the little bit that you got. The pulled Pork Sliders are delicious butsuper spicy. We also got the fries and calamari which were also very good! One thing that we were thrown off by was at the endwhen you go to tip, there’s a tip line for the DJ… we had no idea what amount to tip and we also never physically saw him sowe weren’t sure who we were tipping. A disclaimer from the hostess or the waitress would have been nice… just to ensure thatwe were aware and prepared and didn’t under tip. Read more

What a great experience! I can't wait to go back! First downtown traffic made us late for our reservation, so I called and was... warmly greeted and accommodated with my reservation being pushed back. Upon arrival the look itself is very adult and sexy. Lotsof wood and dark colors but still very inviting. The owner greeted is and got us seated in a booth. I love the booths as theyseem like your own listening section and they come with charger plugs. The music from the DJ was at the prefect volume. Itfilled the room but didn't overpower the ability to speak at a normal level. Lacey was out server and she was very informativeand had a great personality. Great service, all our questions answered, and she let us know about future events to get us backin. Now to the good and drink....WINNER! The small plate selecting is not large but what they do have they do it right! Thecalamari was actually crispy on the outside and still actually tender and juicy. The aoilo that accompanied it was alsooutstanding. We then tried the sliders, and were not disappointed. Delicious bread and slaw with juicy flavourful pulled porkthat packs a slow roll of heat. There for an Elite event so I got to try some drinks that may go on the menu and was happy toget a sneak peak. My hubby was happy with the beer and whiskey selections. Great date night spot!!! Already familiar with Robbie and Dan Hayden’s hospitality, from the Wine Tap in Belleville, when we saw they had opened a new... establishment here in St. Louis, in The Grove, we just had to go. The articles online about Takashima Record Bar indicated alistening lounge for great vinyl sounds, in a relaxed environment with craft cocktails, nonalcoholic options, and small plates. Those articles were right! The DJ that night was Dan Sexauer; he was great, and we were told there will be lots of variety inthe music program. We loved the décor, the music --spanning many decades and genres—the drinks, and the food. We triedseveral items on all menus and enjoyed the quality and flavor of them all. Particularly of note are the pulled pork sliders(meat from Beast!) and a couple of the drinks: Pastime Paradise, a rye-based cocktail; and Ma Cherie Amour, a nonalcoholic, coconut flavored, “grown-up” drink. These were all delicious, but we tried other good selections, and recommend you do,too. Bartenders (Jamie, Josh, & Braeden) provided excellent service, but table and booth service seemed just as attentive. Oneof the best attributes of this new place is the opportunity it offers for patrons to eat, drink, converse AND enjoy the music. The acoustics are outstanding (obviously designed by someone who knows how to do so!). We were able to converse with each other, the hosts, the servers, and the bartenders, yet we could always hear and enjoy the music. If you have never experienced thislistening lounge concept, go. Even if you have, go! This place is really several cuts above! Read more
