Made a point to visit this St. Louis staple after the Cardinals game. Sure, it's off I-44 a bit and you have to stop at many... stoplights to find this bustling Route 66 gem, and parking was tight, but its worth it. I ordered the Dutchman Delight(chocolate, butterscotch and pecans) Concrete and it was a delightful treat! My wait time from line to delivery wasn't long atall. The operation is smooth and the vibe is St. Louis. Read more

I've never been... I'll be back, every single time I return to St. Louis! It was awesome! I love the classic feel of the place!... I didn't know what to get, so the very nice lady at the counter, gave me some info. I tried the, Root 66 ( malt/root beerconcrete blend ) & since I'd never been...I also got the, Pumpkin Pie Concrete ( which is seasonal) It all tasted awesome! Itwas a great experience, & your staff made it an easy experience on a newbie. I wish I could've gotten a shirt! A+ Read more

I get why Ted Drewes is so iconic. It's a classic ice cream parlor on the historic Route 66. I totally see why people have been... coming for generations, taking their kids and introducing them to Ted Drewes. The ice cream was very creamy and smooth, and itwas great on a hot day. Can't say it's the best ice cream of my life, but it's definitely worth checking out! Just note thatthis place gets popular, so expect to wait in line! Read more

When in Paris, you have to visit the Eiffel Tower. When in St. Louis, you probably want to see the Arch. (It is amazing.) But I... would say the one thing you have to do even more than a Cardinals game or the Arch is sample a Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. Theycalled their custards Concretes because you can turn the cup upside down and it won't fall out. Except why you show up in July. The custard melts faster than you can eat it, so the magic trick won't work. No matter. Ted Drewes frozen custard is theultimate creamy deliciousness. Each bite goes down your throat in a flavor burst of icy coolness. I had two scoops of the mocha;the coffee bitterness added the perfect sharp edges to the sweet velvet of the cream. I did not add any of the extras because Idid not want to distract from the rich flavor the the custard itself. But there are plenty if that please you. Since everyone inSt. Louis knows about the place, showing up on a lazy Sunday afternoon in July is probably not good planning. But there are s12different windows and the long lines move fast. The workers hustle! The family opened this store in 1941 when it was on Route66. It looks very 1950s. But the offerings like green tea macha are very 2022. The frozen custard comes in a paper Ted Drewescup. You eat it with a spoon. I would brave an airport to fly back to St. Louis for some more! Read more

Super fun place for a summer treat! Don?t be fooled by the crowd, the lines move very quickly and it?s worth the short wait. The... huge variety of combinations makes for an experience that is never boring, and the crowd that gathers around is very friendlyand full of fun characters. The staff has to memorize your entire order (no notes or paper!) and I?m yet to have them mess itup. Will definitely be back. Read more

What a fantastic local St. Louis hallmark. It was chill to stop by after moving in a friend to the Hills. It seems like no... matter what day or time it is, Ted Drewes has a constant flow of customers. Kind of surreal to snack on a little piece of St.Louis history with the original concrete and "turn the town upside down" (or just the custard). Thoroughly enjoyed the quaintexperience of feeling the nostalgia of walking from home to the local custard shop. Super family friendly, very nice staff, andjust all around good vibes here. Read more

Great old fashion frozen custard. The only downside is the hot toppings are pretty hot so it melts the custard pretty quickly.... Lines can be long but once you order the service is really quick. Read more

This place is a must if you're in St. Louis. We stopped here for an after dinner treat and couldn't believe how tasty and... generous the portions were. We tried 4 flavors of concretes and each one was better than the last. The lemon crunch, the turtle, the tiramizzou, and the cinnamon ones were all superb. And I couldn't believe we got all 4 for under $20. I see why this placeis an institution! Read more
