My wife and I from Kitchener visited our Sister-in-Law in St. Thomas and she suggested Halibut House for lunch as she and 10... others had a great breakfast out there several weeks ago. I had the Haddock Fish & Chips along with bowl of Chowder soup. Thefish was very lightly battered and a very generous portion which was delicious, probably best I have ever had. French fries werehot and tasty too and the cole slaw was perfect, not to creamy. For $15 it was an exceptional meal. The chowder soup was a largebowl for $5 and very tasty but could have been hotter. Wife and SIL both ordered Grilled halibut with fries and salad and theyboth thought it was delicious too. Restaurant is bright and clean and food was delivered very promptly with excellent friendlyservice too. Highly recommended. We will try the Kitchener location very soon as we were impressed with the menu selections,prices, generous portions and high quality food. Read more

Haddock, chips and coleslaw was very good, light and not greasy. Great portions! Sat us in a booth with direct sunlight in my... face so we moved to a south side one. Definitely need blinds to reduce direct sunlight in your eyes. All in all food was great,server was friendly but busy. Will come back again Read more
We went on opening day about 6! It was amazing! We had a table offered to us immediately. Loved the cod and my hubby had... halibut. The fries were perfect and not at all greasy! Just went to their grand opening. This may be my new favourite! Generous portions of fish with delicious batter and thick cut... french fries. We ordered a platter and fish and chips was large portion cooked well and was also quick to serve. Everything was made fresh and... was good. When we got our bill and takeout container the young man asked how we would pay I said cash so while I was getting outmy money he loomed over me. I found that rather odd. Never when paying cash have I had someone watch me and to make sure I hadright amount. Read more
