Okay…so we tried this place today because my daughter really loves sushi and wanted to try it. Well I am giving 2 stars... because she liked her sushi (although it seemed small to me) and her ramen. Now where the issue for me really comes in, is atthe $17 for the itty bitty dynamite roll. I will admit that I do not eat sushi much but that just seems really expensive to me.To make matters the worse, I ordered shrimp pancakes and they were as bad as they looked. Please see attached pictures. One isfrom Umi’s website and the other is what I had when I opened the container about 15 minutes ago. Burnt to a crisp and bitter.I consider this to be false advertising. Well….$71 later I will not be trying this again. I really wish the restaurants wouldup the quality of their food and not just the prices. Read more
This is our new go-to spot since moving here. The food has been absolutely incredible every single time. We’ve been to a few... in the Stafford/Fredericksburg area and they don’t come close to Umi’s quality. My husband gets the sashimi and is alwaysimpressed by how fresh it is and their selection. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. They are open for indoor dining. We sat at the sushi bar and shared a sushi & sashimi deluxe... dinner. This includes a shrimp tempura roll. My daughter had some beef fried rice and a salad. The sashimi was cut and preparedbeautifully! My daughter loved her fried rice and her salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. As I was photographing the winebar I was intrigued by the miniature sushi house on the shelf. One of the staff excitedly took it down to show us. It was handmade by a customer that does miniatures and took two people over 30 hours to make! It even has power lights. A great experiencedining here! Their sushi is among the best! Read more
First time visiting. I deducted 3 stars for the following: taste of food, time to receive food and ability to replace sides (ie... white rice for brown rice, soup for salad etc). I gave it 2 stars because the restaurant itself is cozy and nice inside and thecustomer service is good. I had the chicken skewers, udon noodles and California rolls and I disliked the taste of them all. Iwill return and I do not recommend. Read more
I had the miso soup, a dragon roll and a Godzilla roll. Best sushi I have had in the DMV area. Giant tuna head was a bonus! I... know the tuna is fresh! Staff was friendly. Finished my meal with green tea. Definitely coming back. Read more
I was pleasantly surprised. A Japanese friend and I came here for sushi and we were impressed! We both spent recent years in... Japan. The sushi was pretty good and decently priced. The dumpling soup and squid salad was also great. And tempura wasdelicious. I'll be back! For two of us with 3 rolls And 3 appetizers, we spent under $55 which is a deal these days. Read more

I went and had a really good time! The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff were very polite. Our server was extremely quick about... the service and made sure to check up on us through the meal. I ordered a avocado roll, California roll, and a red snappertempura mango roll and each of them were delicious! I also added a miso soup and it's great, not too salty.
