Wildly overpriced. Had the steak tacos and steak burrito.... the "steak" is some vague mystery meat, not sliced grilled flank or... strip steak. Taco tortillas were raw....unsteamed or ungrilled. Black beans were undercooked and tough. Will not return. Read more

I really wanted to like the tacos - local, conveniently located in a plaza next to lots of other stuff . The space was pretty... cool - lots of potential. Chorizo was in these large cubes resembling a hot dog having been cut up for a toddler. Fish was bland(I get it, fish, but in comparison to known average). Tortillas seemed like they came out of a freezer at some point. And thelast kick in the groin was the confident pricing model, taking into account the quality of execution. Read more

This is excellent spot! I love tacos and seek them out wherever I go- often disappointed locally in this area with quality. At... The Taco Project, warm atmosphere and cool decor aside, the tacos I had were excellent. Juicy, tender chicken and steak, with agreat pop of flavor. We?ll be back! Read more

Had been looking forward to trying this place, but it was disappointing. Ordered a variety of tacos to give a fair sampling:... chicken, shrimp, salmon, fish. Ratings by taco: Chicken 6/10, Salmon 6/10, Shrimp 5/10, Fish 1/10. The chicken and salmontacos were ok, had some richness from a zesty mayo. Shrimp had potential, I liked the toppings, but they were overcooked to thepoint of being rubbery. The fish was not good at all, I only ate a bite. Even more overcooked than shrimp, not flavorful, andruined by the purple slaw. The slaw was too watery and soaked the tortilla and fish with cold purple juice, which aside fromtasting bad also made the fish appear grey and unappetizing. Didn't care for the style of corn tortillas they used, it's thoseleathery ones like they sell at whole foods in the freezer. Pretty expensive as well, didn't live up to my hope or the price. Food is delicious and employees are super kind. I have a number of disabilities, and they are always very accommodating as far... as bringing my to go order out to me. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but I have no other criticisms! Prices are superreasonable and it?s such a nice spot to have in Stamford. Read more

Came in and noticed cool decor. Left sad that service and food did not meet expectations. Unclear whether you sit and order, or... you order and they bring your food. Signage would help. Needs better process to bring food to tables to avoid server yellingout names hoping someone raises their hand. How about numbers on tables? Tacos with chicken was good, a tad skimpy, but cold. Also taco itself is greasy. Shrimp burrito bowl was fair in terms of taste, but not flavorful. Having salsa to put on it wouldhelp (like Chipotle). The food is placed in a fried ?bowl? which is then placed in a ceramic bowl - that makes it hard to eat asthe fried bowl wobbles in the ceramic bowl. Also a burrito bowl should not come with an extra fried bowl- should be only theburrito filling - odd. Also shrimp was fried with no mention of that on menu. People want to know that. Not cool to add 300calories to a dish because it?s fried. May try again once more and hope this neighborhood place addresses these types of issuesand succeeds. Read more

Great new taco place in Stamford. Nice space for being in a strip mall, and the food is really terrific. Great prices, and I... will definitely return. Read more

Got steak tacos, shrimp tacos, a salmon taco bowl, and churros. The salmon bowl was great. The tacos were good - they keep them... minimal here but I enjoyed the flavor. It didn?t need all the extras. I was surprised the shrimp on the tacos were fried, and Iwould?ve preferred they weren?t, but that?s how they do them here I guess and they were fine. The tacos start at about $10 for2, which is high compared to other places around. Also from what I could tell you can?t just order one taco of steak, forexample, and get a variety to try a bunch. It has to be two at a time. The inside is themed really well. I love the custom neonsigns and the menu behind the bar. They had plenty of friendly, helpful staff. We placed an order online for takeout and when wearrived the food was ready on time. We have a lot of great taco spots around Stamford, but these were the best I?ve tried inthe northern part of Stamford near the Merritt. Lastly, the Churros were the best I?ve ever had! They are a must try if you?reinto Churros. I?m not even into them like that, but we had some in Little Havana in Florida a month ago and these blew themaway. Overall, I?d say try this place out! I?ll be back for sure. Read more
