Tonight we had one of the best meals we have had in awhile. We had the sausage sampler, beef stroganoff, and Christmas Goose. ... I recommend each one. Our server was outstanding. Black Forest Inn has been operating for over forty years, yet the beautiful restaurant is in perfect shape, staff is as excited... to be there now as they were when they started - many as far back as 20 years ago! More than a beer hall, this is German finedining. It has something for everyone - from Biergarten staples to truly creative cuisine. Many American dishes have their rootin German cuisine so it behooves anyone to try and be amazed. Seasonal choices pop onto the already expansive menu - think wildboar in cider or venison. Schnitzel three ways, with two meat options (pork or veal). All the classics. Everything made by thesecond generation executive chef, who has been on tv and in magazines recognized for his excellence. His children are learningthe ropes too, already a decade in. Absolutely fantastic! We got catering for our Oktoberfest party and we were absolutely blown away! Barbara from the beginning... made ordering a breeze- even though it was difficult to choose from all the fantastic options they offered. I really appreciatedthe offer for the whole chafing dishes set up- with the addition of serving utensils! The day of the caterers arrived dressed infull garb- totally unexpected but how awesome. They did a wonderful job setting everything up and even left hot boxes for us touse to keep everything warm until we wanted to serve. The food was PHENOMENAL. Unfortunately didn’t get photos of everythingas the food went so quickly- it did not stand a chance! Appetizers to the main courses, the food was beyond expectations. Fromthe incredibly tender sauerbraten to the juicy chicken schnitzel and delicious handmade maultaschen- we were all blown away.Hands down it made our party and I am still receiving compliments on how wonderful everything was! That food was fantastic, the service by Michael was great. The beautiful Antique German Clocks were rare, spectacular.
Absolutely delicious food, very german and very great tasting!! The atmosphere is very authentic to germany too which is great!... The dessert picture is the Chocolate Mousse, i absolutely recommend it!! Read more
Our RSVP was at 8pm and we got seated shortly after that. It is a big place, but despite its size it was still a cozy... restaurant. They happen to have live music that night, which was a Saturday. When we were seated we happen to be placed next totheir spot where the waiters and waitresses would put all the dirty dishes. I personally would not place people next to thisarea. It's just as bad sitting next to the restrooms. We placed our order at 8:15 p.m. . All we ordered was entrees noappetizers and one hard cider. The hard cider came quickly after we ordered. then we were also served one roll each, with aplate of butter. After placing our order we never saw our waitress again until about 5 minutes before our food came to thetable. Which was at 9:10 p.m. by this point most of restaurant was empty. Besides our table there was only a handful of othertables still sitting. I'm not too sure if our order was forgot to be placed, or our table was forgotten about. I personally didnot like my dish. But my boyfriend enjoyed his. The menu is very small which I personally like a small menu. Maybe it was justthe night we went that had poor service but people seem to like this place. Read more
Delicious, authentic German food! The building is delightfully kitschy with stained glass hunting scenes, German tchotchkes and... servers in Tracht. Everything I had was perfect: flammekuche like straight out of Strasbourg, tender Christmas goose, deliciousMaultaschen, and glühwein for Christmas spirit. The only downpoint was the pretzel “stick” with the sausage sampler, whichseemed like the frozen ones you get in a cafeteria. Skip it and get a potato dumpling instead. I’ll definitely be back.
