HORRIBLE SERVICE. MANY MISTAKES. Was just getting drinks with friends, no food. Only one other party in restaurant of maybe 4-5... people. It took 50 minutes for me and my friends to get 1 drink each. Waitress was rude when confronted about the long drinktime. They then proceeded to bring us the shots we ordered, but said they ran out of the ingredients to make the specific shot,so they just did it halfway and still brought it out. Irish coffee had ice in it. Martinis had ice in it. When asked for thebill, waitress brought bill out and the bills were wrong, so she had to go back to re do the bills. We’re also charged for“large party” without any pre notice, we were also not a “large party”. We had 4 people. Terrible Read more

Came here with friends for brunch before we left Starkville after attending the MSU/Auburn game. We had a nice time. As... expected, pretty much every restaurant in the Cotton District was absolutely packed. Arepas sits a little bit off the mainroad, but it's easy enough to find. I'm not sure if that's why they were a little less busy than other restaurants, butregardless, we somehow lucked into being able to be seated almost immediately, not counting the time we spent waiting for awaitstaff member to be able to address us. It's a tiny little restaurant but very cute and modern looking; fun decorations andaccents, bright colors, pretty table and glassware. The menu is full of delicious-sounding items. It was hard to pick just acouple of things to try. They also have an extensive selection of specialty coffee drinks. Service was VERY nice, albeit alittle slow. It took them a while to acknowledge us at the hostess booth, and our food and coffee also took a little longerthan ideal to be delivered. That being said, they were very busy and either understaffed or overwhelmed or both, so I canunderstand why that happened. The four of us ordered a round of tequeños as a starter. It wound up coming out at around thesame time as our entrees, but at that point we were so hungry we were happy to have food at all, haha. The portion size felt alittle small - only four small sticks - BUT the price was low so it balances out. They were crispy, a little less gooey thanyour typical cheese stick, and the dipping sauce was delicious. For our entrees, everyone at our table got some variation of anarepa. Can't remember the specifics of everyone's choices, but all of us were happy! I had the build your own and kept all thetoppings except avocado -- a corn arepa with pulled chicken, black beans, plantains, bacon, queso fresco, and Gouda cheese! They forgot to remove the avocado like I asked, but it wasn't a problem for me to take it off myself. It was very tas Read more

I really enjoyed Arepas! I went for a lunch date with a friend in the off-hours. A single arepa with a side and drink is... actually quite filling, perfect for one meal. The music was a bit loud. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Overall, I'ddefinitely go again. Read more

The atmosphere is good, waitress was friendly, but the food was dry and bread was slightly burned on the bottom. The cheddar... cheese also wasn’t melted at all. Not sure if it was supposed to be. Read more

Took my mother and brother here for lunch as we wanted to try Venezuelan food. We ordered two Arepas, sampler platter, some... empanadas, and Churros/Tres Leches for dessert. The food was terrific as was the service. We really appreciated how the servertold us the traditions and how to eat the Arepas (like a hamburger with hands versus knife and fork as we did, ha ha). The onlyreason for 4 stars is that in the middle of a pandemic, we expected to see workers wearing a mask. This is Mississippi howeverand to be fair, we don't see many people wearing masks anywhere. Overall, an excellent experience. Read more

Delicious food. Good vibe. Friendly staffs. I had empanadas, mandocas, and arepas with pulled pork. Tres leches for dessert and... blondie for coffee. All very delicious! Empanada here was made with corn mill. Different from what I had in Chile. I learnedthat different countries/areas have different styles of arepas so assume that this is venezuelan style. Empanada was good but Iliked mandocas. Had more flavor. The lady said they make tres leches in house, which was exact sweet dessert I wanted. Blondiewas better than Starbucks (why do I even compare...). Love this place. Highly recommended and will visit many more times! Expectlittle slow service (based on weekend lunch experiences). I was driving thru from out of town looking for a quick bite. 5 for the food, 3 for the service. The arepas were excellent and... good value. Sweetpotato bread was surprisingly good. They were open for only three weeks -- service was a little slow, butstaff were very friendly and polite. Hope they get there with more experience. Good luck. Read more
