The Inn at Starlight Lake is magical. Steeped in history, it's preserved all that is special and beautiful about family time.... With limited internet and no TV in the room, the little girl I traveled with spent the entire time playing outside at theplayground, making new friends, splashing in the lake, learning to kayak, and spending time with us. She and her mom and I spenttime lakeside painting watercolors and she frolicked with my dog for hours. This place is a true gem. And the food is excellent! It's an incredible restaurant with top-tier selections. Plus, the idea of sitting down together with your family at a resort formeals, that's what I grew up with and it's a cherished tradition that is celebrated here. The setting is gorgeous, with the lakeand trees, the front porch is perfect for relaxing in a rocker, and the entire experience was one we can't wait to replicatewhen we head back this fall!!! We loved every moment and the family who runs this spectacular place is so warm and caring. Don'tmiss this experience. It's perfection! Read more

Decided to take a ride after church for lunch, after the hour ride through the countryside we arrived at the Inn. It was like... going back in time, friendly greeting, beautiful view of the lake, no noisy crowd. Most customers were just enjoying goodconversation. Children sitting with parents talking, playing or reading a book.. NO CELL PHONES ON DISPLAY. Linch was great, food very good and Elaine made us feel like we were visiting relatives. Will be back again. Thanks for such a great spot toremember the good old times. Read more

This Inn is great. It's rustic but I have stayed there many times over the last 30 or so years and have found the rooms to be... clean and charming. The food is great, the price is affordable and both the old and new owners are great hosts. If you'relooking for modern accommodations, perhaps this isn't the best choice but I highly recommend it. This is an incredibly peaceful place. The Inn is beautiful, and the energy is very open and welcoming. It is such a calm,... relaxing place that I did not want to leave. Sari is helpful and kind. Her whole family (everyone there) is amazing. I wasable to stay here a week and enjoy the restaurant and the bar, and I needed this stay. I stayed by myself, but I cannot wait tostay alone again, and a third visit to bring my family back. This is a hidden gem. The Inn- The Inn is a wonderful place. There is no cell phone reception and limited WiFi. There are not TV's in the room. There are books all throughout the Inn. They are amazing books like World Books, National Geographic, and many classics. I want to do a scavenger hunt with my kidshere. It made me realize how caught up I have gotten in this crazy world and what my kids do not know besides YouTube andInstagram. There is a game room with a pool table, ping pong, and toys. There is a communal TV room with channels, but alsomany DVD's. There is a sitting area around a wood burning stove, and also a fire place. There is a separate seating andrelaxing area outside of the TV area, and there is a piano in one corner. The detail here is amazing. The Lake is beautiful. There is a long, large porch on the lake with a table and many chairs. There is a large bin with personal floatation devices, and kayaks and a canoe. All of these are free. I cannot tell you how relaxing it was kayaking on the lake. It is a calm lakeand you can easily stop paddling and relax and picnic in the water. There is a playground on the lake as well, my younger kidswill wear PDF's even though the lake is shallow at first and there is no current. In the morning the steam rises up, and it issurrounded by beautiful hills. The Restaurant and Bar- You have to look at the menu. The food is amazing and the prices arevery reasonable. The breakfast is included and was made once I was seated and ordered. The French Toast Read more

Unfortunately, this inn looks nothing like the pictures. The outside is white paint and the paint is chipping everywhere. The... front door is almost falling off the hinges. The inside furniture, decorations, and the atmosphere is completely run down andold. We were assigned room A1 and when I walked in it smelt of perfumed laundry detergent, mold, and old furniture. We checkedin at about 8 pm and tried to think positive and had dinner there. The food was decent but again the dining area is also old andrun down. By 9 pm I couldn't do it and we decided to leave and find another place to sleep. Ended up at a nice place calledHandcock. I told the man at the new hotel what had happened and he told me that about 10 years ago new owners took over the innand have not done anything to maintain the building and it's just falling apart year after year. I would NOT suggest this Innnot even for one night. There are other locations very close by that are much better. I also want to mention that the olderlady at the front desk is a bit "off" and everything felt a little bit creepy..... Read more
