Compliments to the chef, staff and team at AG. Let’s start with the extensive cocktail menu and excellent wine list. Had both... a cocktail and wine (it was move in weekend after all) and both were fantastic . The menu is seasonal, and they curate and uselocal ingredients and it was evident. Food was fresh (melon salad, salmon and chicken were outstanding), seasoned toperfection, delicious and the presentation - beautiful (insert chef’s kiss emoji here). And to top off a fabulous evening atthe AG, our server Brian was knowledgeable, attentive and beyond helpful (thanks, Brian!). Now that our only children areresidents of State College, we plan on stopping here anytime we are in town. Great choice for dining when in the area! Read more

Allen Street Grill was supposed to be a nice after graduation dinner, unfortunately, this place was hands down the absolute... worst food, drinks and service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. I could never recommend this place to anyone. Food wasmushy and bland, the drinks tasted awful, and the server constantly forgot anything that was asked of her. Read more

Another hidden gem in State College right in the heart of downtown. Top notch service, great wine list and delicious food.

Nice place with a good atmosphere and great view if you get a table at the windows along College Ave. Food was excellent.... Enjoyed the salmon. Service was pretty slow, but we got there right at opening, so perhaps they were still getting in thegroove. Read more

We decided to have a graduation celebration here at the Allen Street Grill. Had an absolutely fabulous time! The service was... fantastic, always at hand and attentive. The limited menu was still broad enough to have a very rich selection. I only postedpics of a beautiful Ahi tuna appetizer and a Sashito pepper and prosciutto dish (the lighting is off because of me). The restof the dinner, drinks and service were just as good. Highly recommend it! Read more

I came here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night around 7:30 with a reservation through open table. And we were seated right... away on the high tables near the bar which have a nice window where you can look out. The staff was very nice and the food wasgreat. Definitely planning on coming back. Ribeye (9/10): I saw this on the menu for $51 and thought it was overpriced. But Ihad to get it. And I was not disappointed. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. I was definitely a fan of theglaze/sauce. Such an amazing combo. Steak was cooked perfectly. And the potatoes were amazing. The green scallions also added aunique flavor profile. Worth it. Bucatini (8/10): great pasta. Really liked the cheese. Simple dish. Overall, definitely thebest restaurant in state college (that I’ve been to) and I’m definitely planning to come back. Read more

Great experience at this fine dining location overlooking the main campus of Penn State in downtown state college. We visited on... a Wednesday where they were showcasing a special menu of whiskey and burger. I decided to go for it. The whisky is a curatedchoice of 3 different brands with a helpful menu explaining each flavor. The burger was a generous size with a thick patty, sausage and sauerkraut, served with fries. For starters, we tried their unique dish mushroom hummus. I come from middle Eastwhere hummus is a staple dish but I must admit I was impressed with what the chef managed to do. Full of flavor. Our server wasvery helpful regularly checking on us to ensure everything was going according to plan. Prices are what you would expect for apremium dining experience. Highly recommended. Read more

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant; the food sometimes is really good, some others really salty (like the chopped salad... this time) or not as good as it should be given the kind of restaurant it is. Like the chicken: it was a fried (almost burned)chicken, breaded, dry inside, etc. Not a dish to offer in a non so casual restaurant like this one. The service is good. Iwonder why, however, waiters come back to you just in the precise moment of a good conversation to interrupt and ask “how isthe food”? Read more
