The bouncers here are on a power trip for sure. They?re rude and it is awful for business. I witnessed them disrespect the... people in front of me in line and i literally walked away. I refuse to give this place my business. Tell your bouncers to go tothe academy if they want to be the police. Read more

Very disappointed in this establishment. After 1 drink, I was asked to leave with no reason stated. Upon asking the staff... member, he did not list a reason as to why my group was needed to leave. Unsurprisingly, my group of friends had many people ofcolor. This bar and its staff should be ashamed of itself. Don't go here if you want to have a fun time. Read more
The place itself is nice, but as many here have mentioned, the staff and in particular the bouncers are completely rude for no... reason. I saw them deny a 50 year old man, standing still and completely upright, because he was ?too intoxicated?. Then, theyrefused to accept my friend?s government issued ID because he is a foreign student, even though on previous occasions at thissame bar they accepted it. This isn?t a problem at any other bar in state college. The culture of Doggie?s bouncers is toxic. Italso slows the line down for others because the bouncers are constantly getting into arguments with their customers. You haveto be on your best behavior to get in because even the slightest glance will be perceived by the bouncer as you being rude orbeing drunk and they will refuse to let you in. Really ruins the experience. Better to take your business elsewhere. Read more
Gotta go 5-stars here for Doggies, the former Rathskeller. Love the outdoor area, and a live band on a Friday night can't be... beat. Decent draft beer selection, but they could do better IMO. Friendly bartenders to boot. A State College institution ???? Read more

When I was a student the Rathskeller was THE place. I loved it there. This is not the Rathskeller. What it is though is a... decent bar and the best one of all the bars I hit on my last visit to State College on a football weekend. They have cleaned itup, added an outside area and put in new booths. All good. The bouncer asked my buddy and I if we were veterans (we are and Iguess look the part) and let us in without paying a cover which was awesome. I miss the character of the Skeller, butnonetheless this is a good place. Read more
